There is a lot of history behind the Palpagos Islands inPalworld, including the five different factions that fight among themselves. Each faction has different views and values that drive their actions, often pitting them against one another for control over the various territories.
One of the faction leaders is Victor Ashford, a mysterious and intellectual recluse hidden in the frosted mountains of the archipelago. He’s the last one you’ll encounter, and his handful of diary entries reveal more about his character and his goals. Here’s everything you need to know about Victor Ashford to better understand him in Palworld.

Victor Ashford’s Background
Victor Ashford is a cold and calculating man of science. His ambitions take precedence, especially when it comes to the study of Pals and interspecies Pals. He is the leader of the PAL Genetic Research Unit and seeks to create the ultimate lifeform through genetic manipulation.
He plays the role of a mad scientist, splicing and breeding different Pals together in hopes of creating bioweapons and stronger Pals. However, most of these experiments were utter failures. Ever determined to find success, Victor continued with his work.
All of his tech and equipment comes from the outside world, making it difficult for him to upgrade and improve the technology he uses in his research.
PAL Genetic Research Unit Experiments
From Victor Ashford’s diary entries, it’s revealed that he has ambitions to create new life through combining various Pals. His ambitions lead him to pursue the creation of a four-legged Pal with wings, though the combination patterns of different Pals only resulted in failure.
While some combinations created physical bodies, they deteriorated as soon as they were created and had to be disposed of.
After extracting chemicals and High-Quality Pal Oil, Victor’s experiments became more successful. He discovered how to enhance a Pal’s abilities by liquifying one Pal and injecting it into another.
A true success emerged finally, resulting in Shadowbeak. However, the results could not be replicated by following the same procedure. Additional notes from the experiment include that Victor’s lab assistant, Alex, went missing during the experiment.
