Who Is Vegapunk?
Dr. Vegapunk is a scientist who ate the Brain-Brain Fruit, which slowly began enlarging his brain to fit more knowledge than anyone else could fit. He began his life as a scientist by forming MADS, a group of scientists consisting of Vinsmoke Judge, Buckingham Stussy, Queen, and Caesar Clown. The group was involved in the creation of weapons of mass destruction, even though Vegapunk himself only cared for peace.
After MADS disbanded, Vegapunk began working for the World Government, which led him to work on the Pacifista program, creating war weapons in the form of clones of formerWarlord Of The Sea, Bartholomew Kuma.

This program led to the creation of the Seraphim, clones of the Seven Warlords Of The Sea infused with Lunarian DNA.

Although Vegapunk’s research and creations deal with weaponry, his true passion is the pursuit of knowledge. Upon meeting Bartholomew Kuma and Jewelry Bonney, Vegapunk was intrigued at Kuma’s Buccaneer lineage and agreed to help cure Bonney’s Sapphire Scales disease pro bono, as long as he gets to clone Kuma. This was the start of the Pacifista program.
Due to his pursuit of knowledge, Vegapunk began researching the forbidden Void Century, alerting the World Government in the process. The Four Elders, upset at this defiance, plot an assassination on the scientist, ordering a destructive Buster Call on the island, but are impeded by the Straw Hat Pirates.

As the events escalate and the admiral Kizaru is unable to complete his mission, one of the Elders, Jaygarcia Saturn is forced to make an appearance. His power is too strong for many of his combatants to overcome and Kizaru manages to deal a deathly blow to Vegapunk as he is escaping the battlefront.
His death triggered a fail-safe he set up, in the event of his death, to inform the world of everything his research had taught him. His death triggered a worldwide broadcast that urged people to set up a video feed, so he couldshow the world his secrets. Knowledge that will change the world of One Piece forever.
