Ah, Mayor Lewis. The long-time Mayor ofStardew Valleywhom the villagers seem to like, but most players like to hate. Though, what if he decided not to run for the position? Or even better, although he’s been unchallenged for over 20 years, who would be the best candidate to step in for a political showdown?
There are plenty of loved villagers in Stardew Valley, including all the bachelors and bachelorettes. And there are villagers who talk about loving the Valley or the people living in and around it. But which one would be the best Mayor of Pelican Town?

10Morris
“Give Your Money To Morris, He’ll Fix Everything!”
Okay,Morris, who runs the local JojaMart, is probably not the best candidate. But hey, Morris has a keen business mind and actually does help rebuild things around Pelican Town. At a price.
If you want to experience a capitalist nightmare in Stardew Valley, as if there isn’t one already going on in real life, you can give Morris your vote. And for those Pierre haters in the crowd, a vote for Morris is a vote against the General Store owner.

9Marnie
“Elect Marnie And She’ll Work Most Of The Time!”
Marnieis another villager who could make for a great Mayor even though players hate that her shop always seems to be closed when they need it most. But when you look at it, she’s running a successful business, is supporting two people on her income, and enjoys being out with the people of the Valley.
But besides going to the exercise classes with the girlies and Harvey,Marnie does spend a lot of time around the current Mayor. She’s probably heard a thing or two about what it’s like running the town, so why not cut Lewis out and swear Marnie in? Just expect more government holidays than usual.

Technically, Shane, who lives with Marnie, has a job in the game until the JojaMart closes. But still, it’s her home and business he’s living in.
8Emily
“Let’s Work Together To Keep Pelican Town Beautiful!”
She may not have the kind of business or political experience that others in the Valley do, butEmilyhas the social aspect working in her favor. Other than her sister, Haley, is there anyone who dislikes Emily in town? No.
This crystal lady is all about positive energy and accepting people as they are, which in a place like Pelican Town is both important and can take someone a long way. She’s a nurturing person, a lover of nature, and could bring people together very effectively.

7Penny
“A Vote For Penny Is A Vote For The Betterment Of Stardew Valley!”
Pennyis an educator, teaching Vincent and Jas, but not just through textbooks. She organizes field trips and outings, all on her own with little to no assistance from the parents and guardians of the two kids. Beyond that, she knows what it means to work with very little money and make the most of it.
That would allow her the perspective of how to make every single bit of coin work for the benefit of everyone living in Stardew Valley. Not the most personable though, it might take a lot of effort during the campaigning phase of running for Mayor.

6Harvey
“Free Healthcare For Everyone!”
It’s time to hang up the doctor’s coat. Harvey knows the very intimate ins and outs of Stardew Valley. Maybe more than a leader should. But that also puts him in a unique position as a mayoral candidate.
Harveyknows exactly what some of the most basic needs are for the people of the Valley. Not to mention, he clearly has a higher education, which isn’t a clear thing that the other NPCs talk about. Being a good Mayor isn’t all about brains or knowing the most about the people around you, but it certainly couldn’t hurt his chances.

5Maru
“Let’s Modernize Pelican Town Together!”
By day, she operates as Harvey’s assistant. But by night, and whenever she is in her room,Maruengineers and crafts different helpful inventions. If we are talking about brains getting someone elected, Maru is certainly in the running.
Because she also works in the clinic, she has access to all the people of Pelican Town and can work based on knowing their needs, wants, and desires. Though she might spend most of the town’s budget on different technological initiatives. At the same time, she could bring improvements to the Valley that would make everyone’s life easier.

4Demetrius
“Protecting Stardew Valley’s Climate”
The intelligent apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Like Maru,Demetriusis a very smart individual and has the added bonus of being a scientist who is very passionate about Stardew Valley. He enacts changes without any cost, like installing either the fruit bats or the mushrooms in the farmer’s cave.
So, clearly, he wants to improve the Valley and make it both a sustainable and profitable place. And I’m sure he would bring to the table several initiatives based on climate and science. With him at the helm, Stardew Valley is sure to be a prosperous place for some time to come.

3Mr. Qi
“Big Brother, But Friendly.”
Mr. Qiwould be what the Illuminati would be to the Presidency, for good and maybe a little for bad. For instance, Mr. Qi understands everything going on. Everything. He has a freaking room dedicated to watching the farmer’s progress through the game.
Mr. Qi would tell us that, yes, Area 51 is housing aliens. He would bethe one to tell Stardew Valley that they are living in a simulated cozy gamefor better or for worse. Or maybe he would deem it a wise decision not to tell everyone but instead to make the simulation work for the people quietly.

2Robin
“Let’s Continue Building A Bright Future!”
Robinis a very practical choice. She has been not just a metaphorical but a literal architect of the town. She knows everyone and everyone knows her. She’s a problem solver, she runs a successful business, and she has the social skills some of the other candidates lack.
In addition, she wants to make positive changes to the Valley. From creating shortcuts to building a house for Pam and Penny, she wants to be helpful. She just needs the funding to do so, which she would get in the form of taxes from the townspeople. She’d probably put it to better use than Mayor Lewis has.

1The Wizard
“Making Stardew Valley A Powerful And Safe Place.”
Okay, but how cool would it be to say that, oh yeah, our Mayor is a Wizard? Hello? Yes bring magic into the town, Mr. The Wizard. Sure, it conjures the image of The Wizard of Oz, but that’s just not Rasmodius' style.
He uses powerful spells to both block and unlock the magic of the Valley. He understands the Junimos and how to set them free. He is even able tostop the Dwarf and Krobus from fighting after the Elemental Wars, bringing much-needed peace between the two beings. He may not have formal political experience, but with a little practice, he could bring a spark to the Valley no one else could.
