Getting a character inHonkai: Star Railmight be difficult since there’s a lot of luck involved, but once you get them, ascending them through different phases and upgrading their traces is equally difficult since you need to farm a lot of materials from different locations.
Black Swan is a five-star Nihility character with Wind as the combat type, and getting her materials is a little more difficult since some of these got released in the same update as her first featured banner. However, here’s a list of everything you’ll need and how to get it.
Black Swan Ascension Materials
You’ll need quite a few materials if you want to ascend Black Swan to level 80:

Apart from the above materials, you’ll needextra Credits and character EXP materialsto upgrade Black Swan’s level.
You can easily get Ascendant Debris from theShape of Celestial Stagnant Shadow in Alchemy Commission. You’ll need to defeat The Ascended enemy to get five Debris at the highest level. She’s weak to the Physical, Ice, and Lightning combat types.
Black Swan Trace Materials
The maximum level that you can get on Black Swan’s traces depends on your current ascension level. Moreover, even at maximum ascension, you can only take theBasic Attack to level six while the Skill, Talent, and Ultimate can be upgraded to ten. These two groups of traces also take different materials as follows:

The materials mentioned above are therequirements for each type of Trace, and you’ll need thrice the total if you want to upgrade all three of them.
Where To Get Black Swan Trace Materials
The Core mob drops required by Black Swan are some of the most abundant materials in Honkai: Star Rail since they’redropped by Fragmentum monstersthat can be found on almost every planet. Moreover, the Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster is dropped byBorehole Planet’s Old Crater Echo of War in the Herta Space Station.
Tracks of Destiny can be acquired through various events including the weekly reset of the Simulated Universe rewards. Finally, the Crimson Calyx drops for Black Swan were released in the Version 2.0 update. you may get them byfarming the Bud of Nihility in the Alchemy Commission area. Don’t confuse this with the other Buds of Nihility in the game.
If you don’t have Alchemy Commission unlocked, you’re able to still temporarily access this calyxwhen a character using the materials is on the featured banner.
