On top of being an incredibly faithful ode to the original game, theResident Evil 4 Remakecomes jam-packed with a bunch of new and updated features from the original, and one of the most common of these comes in the form of Merchant Requests.
In the original game, there was only a single request where you would be rewarded with a new gun from the Merchant. In the remake, there are now 19 of these requests spread across the entirety of the campaign, and the tasks range from fishing, hunting down rats, and, as this guide will cover, getting back a stolen jewel from a crow.
The Separate Ways DLC adds seven more Merchant Requests not found in the main campaign.
How To Find The Merchant Request
The first step to completing this request is finding it in the first place. Luckily, it’s pretty hard to miss since youfind the request right at the start ofChapter 12.
All you have to do is take the elevator from the room where you just fought Krauser, andthe blue note can be found attached to a wallon your left next to the Merchant.
Reading the note will inform you that a crow has stolen a precious jewel from the Merchant and that the bird has most likely taken it to its nest in the Courtyard.
How To Get To The Crow’s Nest
After accepting the request, make way to the crow’s nest in the Courtyard as the note described.
Backtrack west through the Ballroom and then through the Grand Hall,entering the east side of the Courtyard.
You will then find yourself being squawked at by the thief himself, who then promptly flies away from you.
Conveniently, the crow will lead you right to where you need to go, but for reference’s sake,you will go through the Courtyard’s west exit, which is directly in front of you.
As you go back through the Courtyard, you may encounter Zealots at this point, so be careful.
The crow and its nest will be located northabove the Merchant’s shop, on the roof adjacent to the mossy archway.
Shoot at the nest and the crow will be scared off, dropping the Scratched Emerald right in front of the archway.
Head straight into the Merchant’s shop next door andsell the Scratched Emerald to him for 5,000 Pesetas.
