Dragon’s Dogma 2is a vastly complex, challenging, and rewarding game with many systems, mechanics, characters, and questlines to tackle in its sprawling open world. As such, you can expect to encounter many unique side quests along your way—some simple, some more challenging, and some only made challenging due to unfortunate bugs, circumstances, or the aforementioned systems at play.
Take the Oxcart Courier side quest, for example. It is relatively simple and straightforward but can be upended when trying to track down Lennart in Melve. However, with some luck, you will be able to find him in no time to complete the quest!
Oxcart Courier Walkthrough In Dragon’s Dogma 2
After reachingVernworthin Dragon’s Dogma 2 andspeaking with Donovanto begin theOxcart Courierside quest, you will be tasked withtaking the Oxcart from Vernworth to Melve todeliver a letter to Lennart.Simple enough, right?
Boarding The Oxcart
So, after speaking with Donovan, make your way over to thesign near the Oxcartsand interact with it. After abrief lapse of time, an active Oxcart will appearin the area. From here,speak with Niannand pay a fee of100Gto Board the Oxcart.
Upon paying the fee, head toward theback of the Oxcart, climb inside the wagon,and take a seaton the bench. Here, you caneither ‘Doze Off’ and fast-forward your journeyfrom Vernworth to Melveor take in the sights and soundsfrom beginning to end.
However, please note thatyou will likely be ambushed at least onceon your way there, so be prepared for combat. The enemies canrange from Goblins and Wolves to an Ogre,so it’s best to be fully stocked up on supplies before moving onward with the quest!
Delivering The Letter To Lennart
Once arriving at Melve, all that’s left istracking Lennart down and delivering Donovan’s letterto him. But, alas,this is where things can get a bit tricky.If you’re lucky, Lennart will be in the village and easily spotable and approachable. If not, we will cover how to -hopefully- fix that later, but for now,check the following areas for Lennartif you don’t immediately see him:

Lennart can be in any of the areas above, so be sure to thoroughly search each place before panicking. Thefirst imageshowcases thewinding pathway that leads out of the village, where the stone archway isthat typically has a guard near it. If Lennart is here, he willlikely be speaking to another NPCby the wall.
Thesecond and third imagesare ofLennart’s House and the Inn that’s directly beside it.Lennart can be in either place, but it isrelatively rare for him to be here during the early hoursof the day. He can also be in theplaza just above the Inn,so check there if you have no luck in these areas.
Ourfinal areais thewell near the entrance of the village.He willfrequently be down hereas well. If he isn’t in any of these areas, try roaming the village, keeping an eye out for him. If you’re not finding him, there are some things you can try to get him to appear in Melve so you can deliver Donovan’s letter to him!
If you successfully find Lennart and deliver the letter to him, warp back to Vernworth via a Ferrystone and speak with Donovan to complete the side quest!
Where To Find Lennart In Dragon’s Dogma 2
If you’ve checked all the hot spots and tirelessly roamed Melve in search of Lennart only to come up empty-handed, there are some things you may attempt to get him to appear.While these solutions may not always work, they are worth an attempt if you exhausted all other options!
Thefirstis quite simple: it’scausing a commotion in the village.Don’t hurt anyone or do anything drastic like that, butsimply pulling out your weapons and swinging at nothing or random houseswill cause the villagers to become deservedly upset, causing them to run around.If Lennart is in Melve, you might just see him run outfrom where he wasor even suddenly appearin front of you!
Lennart Is Dead!
Finally,if nothing else has workedout for you,the reason may very well be that Lennart died at some pointduring your playthrough. However, as dire as that may sound,your quest isn’t over yet.To find out if he’s dead,warp back to Vernworth via a Ferrystoneand make your way to theVermundCharnel House.
Once here,walk past Zennan, through the doorway beside him, and down the stairs.From here, youshould see little to no casketsunless you have some serious explaining to do,andthe one you do see should hopefully be Lennart.
If Lennart’s casket is here,you can use aWake Stonetobring him back to life,sending him back to Melve. From here, you can take theOxcart back to Melveand finally complete the quest. However, ifLennart isn’t dead,you mustsearch harder for him in the village,as that is your only hope!
