Where To Find Gontr Mael

Gontr Maelcan be found in the possession of the Steel Watcher Titan, a unique boss variant of the Steel Watchers that patrol Baldur’s Gate. The Steel Watcher Titan, unsurprisingly,is located inside the Steel Watch Foundry,but be prepared for a tough fight.

How To Get Inside The Steel Watch Foundry

Located in theLower City region of Baldur’s Gate, the Steel Watch Foundry is a fenced-in area patrolled by Steel Watcher guards. One patrols the docks on the south side of the building; the other watches the front entrance. There are a handful of entry points to consider, so you’ll want to plan accordingly.

Entrances to the Foundry

Stealthy characters can climb through the vent shaft located by the dockside entrance, provided the character is small enough. Alternatively, you might also consider simply talking your way past the guards.

Once you’re inside, make your way to the northwest corner toa door labelled “Security Office.“Here you’ll run into one of the Foundry workers,Zanner Toobin.Speak with him, and you’ll learn Gortash is keeping the workers enslaved by holding their family members hostage.

It’s important to mention that if you have yet to find andrescue Duke Ravengard,any further progressinto the depths of the Foundrywill result in his death, along with the other prisoners.

Sneaking into the Security Office of the Steel Watch Foundry in Baldur’s Gate 3

From Toobin’s location, head through the door down the flight of stairs. In this new area, expect at least two Steel Watchers, along with a handful of Cultists of Bane and foundry workers. Should you get into a fight with them, be sure to focus on theSteel Watchersfirst, usinglightning attacks for extra damage.

You can make use of the pipes lining the room to sneak to the Control Centre Antechamberdoor, which will take you into the final area of the Foundry, and to the Steel Watch Titan.You’ll need a key to open this door, which can be grabbed from Hahns Rives. Alternatively,Zanner Toobin will provide you with a keyif you’ve freed his family.

How To Defeat The Steel Watch Titan

After entering the Antechamber, walk down the small hallway to the next set of doors. The fight ahead will be hard if you’re unprepared, so be sure to equip the wizard in your party with a lightning spell or two. You may also want to considersummoning an allysuch as an elemental or using the Planar Ally: Djinni spell.

You’ll be met by the Titan and three of its younger siblings.The Titan’s health pool is large, clocking in at 369HP.Try to spread your party across the room as soon as possible to avoid being cornered by its Hellfire Missile attack.

If you’ve summoned aDijnni, use his Sweetplum Gales spellto buy some time andcreate choke points. The goal here is to deal enough damage to knock the Titan out of the fight, and then mop up the remaining Watchers.

After inflicting enough damage, theSteel Watchers will enable a self-destruct sequence. Be sure to back your party away, although you might be able tolure the others into the blast radiusif you’re careful.
