One of the collectibles you’ll be pursuing throughout yourEiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroesjourney are the Old Book Chapters. There are twenty chapters in total, and they are scattered throughout the world. Some of these are as simple as talking to the right person. However, a few of them are down-right diabolically concealed.
We’ll take you through the location of every chapter, tell you who to talk to, and where to look. With our help, you’ll get the whole set without having to slam your head against the wall (as we did).
We will occasionally reference the “chapter” certain books will become available. you may find the story chapters by pressing the map button and then switching to the “Story” tab.
Faded Book, Chapter 1
Athrabalt
Speak to the man in the housewest of the Weapon Smith’s shop. He’ll provide you with this chapter.
Faded Book, Chapter 2
Kyshiri
You’ll receive this chapter by talking to the resident inside the house on thenortheast corner of the map.
Faded Book, Chapter 3
Eltiweiss
This chapter is in the house to theeast of the appraiser. Talk to the woman inside and she’ll happily give you the book.
Faded Book, Chapter 4
Werne Village
In the house to theeast of the rune shop, talk to the litter girl. She’ll give you the fourth chapter (it’s skeeving her out)
Faded Book, Chapter 5
Twinhorne East
Talk to the man residing in the first house you encounter in Twinhorne East to receive this chapter. This house is hard to miss as it has a panda chilling out beside it.
Faded Book, Chapter 6
Seaside Cavern
You’ll find this chapter in a chest on thenortheast corner of the map. Just follow the main path, and take the first path that diverges right to find it.
Faded Book, Chapter 7
Impershi’arc
This chapter is found in a chest in the northeast house in Impershi’arc.
Faded Book, Chapter 8
Runebarrows
You will find this chapter in a treasure chest in the northeast corner of the Runebarrows. This is a different dungeon from the one you encountered at the beginning of the game.You’ll need to recruit Isha and encounter CJ before you may enter.
Faded Book, Chapter 9
Castle Harganthia
This chapter is found in thesecond gear room.It is on the northeast corner of the map inside a chest.The chest is almost completely hidden behind a partially-crumbled stone pillar.
Faded Book, Chapter 10
Ice Cave
Once you complete the Ice Cave you will be forcefully removed from the dungeon. If you return to the dungeon you’ll find Chapter 10 in a treasure chest in the same room where you fought Fenrir.
Faded Book, Chapter 11
Your Castle
This chapter is the hidden reward for the “Mission Party! To the farm!” guild mission.
Faded Book, Chapter 12
This chapter is the hidden reward for the “Liven up the fishing spot!” guild mission.
Faded Book, Chapter 13
This chapter is the hidden reward for the “Population boom! Get food!” guild mission.
Faded Book, Chapter 14
This chapter is the hidden reward for the “Gather Theatergoers” guild mission.
Faded Book, Chapter 15
Eldroad
This chapter can be found in the northeast corner of the Eldroad forest.
You won’t be able to enter into the Eldroad area until you have reached the “To Norristar, the Western Nation” chapter of the game.
Faded Book, Chapter 16
The Den of the Dunes
You will be able to access the Den of the Dunes by talking to Quinn in Impershi’arc. Once in the Den of the Dunes, head to the east side, then travel north once you hit the wall. You’ll run into one of those spitting plants. Touch it, and it will launch you into a section of desert cordoned off by rocks. To your right will beanotherplant, interact with it to be launched into a second secluded area with a chest. Open that chest to get chapter 16.
Faded Book, Chapter 17
Gardhaven Castle
Chapter 17 will be foundon the third floor of Gardhaven Castle in the library.Get up against the bookshelves and follow them west. You’ll find stairs that will lead you to a ramp heading west. Follow that ramp to a dead end. You shouldjustbe able to see the top of a chest poking out above the railing. This book is in that chest.
Faded Book, Chapter 18
Vilashnu
Sometime after having encountered him in the desert, you’ll be able to find Djikstra inTwinhorne East. He’ll agree to join you if you accompany him to Vilashnu.This is a late-game dungeon filled with tough enemies. You’ll find Chapter 18 on the top of this tower.
Faded Book, Chapter 19
In the Hero’s Den (located at the inn). Head to the second floor, and you’ll find this chapter in the west-most room. It is in a treasure chest.
Faded Book, Chapter 20
Talk to Reid in Eltiweiss after he introduces you to Beigoma, you will then be able to visit Dr. Corque’s workshop. The treasure chest in his workshop contains Faded Book, Chapter 20.
