As a new resident of Pelican Town inStardew Valley, it’s up to you to build a life from scratch, as you manage the unkept property left by your grandfather. In order to rebuild the property, you’ll need to gather resources and to make gold. One of the best ways to make gold is by farming.
You’ll be able to farm on the land left by your grandfather, and every season has a set of seasonal crops that can be grown, harvested, and sold. One vegetable crop that can be planted on your farm is theCarrot, and this can be grown every spring.
Where To Find Carrot Seeds
In order to grow carrots, you first need to findCarrot Seeds. Unfortunately, thesecannot be found in the stores of Pelican Town.
While youcan’t buy carrot seeds using gold, there are several ways that you can obtain them:

How To Grow Carrots
Carrots are great to plant throughout spring, because itonly takes three days for them to matureenough to be harvested.
In order to plant your carrot seeds, you’ll need three tools:a hoe, a bag of carrot seeds, and a watering can.
A bag of carrot seeds willonly take up one plot of land.
You’ll first need to pick an area that you can farm in. If there are any rocks, lumber, grass, or fiber in the area, you’ll want toclear them in order to make room for your carrot farm.
The best place to set up your farming plots isnear a source of water. That way, you won’t have to go very far in order torefill your watering can.
The next thing you’ll need to do is to equip your hoe, thentill a plot of land to make it ready for farming.
Once the land is tilled, you canuse fertilizer in order to affect the growth of your carrots. You can useBasic, Quality, or Deluxe Fertilizerin order toimprove the quality of your crop. You can also useBasic, Quality, or Deluxe Retaining Soilin order tokeep the plot of land watered overnight,if quality is not your priority.
Since carrots only take three days to grow, it’s bestnot to use Speed-Groin the plot where they’re growing. You’re better off using this type of fertilizer on crops that take much longer to grow.
Once you’ve fertilized your plot of land,you can proceed to plant your carrot seeds. After that, you canwater the seeds, and they’llremain watered for the rest of the day.
Keepwatering your carrot seeds daily, unless it’s raining. After three days, your carrot plant should have matured, andyou’ll be able to harvest your carrots!
There arefour different levels of qualitythat your carrot could end up having, and the better the quality,the higher its selling price. It’ll also give youbetter benefits when eaten.

Make sure that youharvest your carrots before spring ends, because they’ll rot once summer rolls in. Given that it has a three-day growth time, you’ll want to plant it four days before the end of spring,specifically on Spring 25.
Different Uses For Carrots
Apart from selling the carrots you’ve grown, there areplenty of other uses for them.

You can consume carrots in order torestore your health and energy.
You can alsofeed your carrots to your horse, and this willincrease its speed by +0.4for a day.
How To Use Carrots In Tailoring
Carrots can also be used inmaking new clothes. You’ll need access to asewing machinein order to craft it.

to use a carrot in tailoring, you’ll need toinsert one in the spool of the sewing machine. Then,insert cloth into the feed, andswitch the machine on. You’ll end up creating anorange shirt and beltthat you’re able to wear.
How To Give Carrots As Gifts
Carrots can also begiven as gifts to the different NPCsof Pelican Town. You’ll need to hold the carrot in your hands, theninteract with a villagerin order to give them the carrot as a gift.
Make sure that you’renot holding the carrot in your hand if you don’t want to give it to a villager. You might hand it to a villager that dislikes carrots by mistake.
That being said, while multiple villagers will enjoy receiving a carrot as a gift,there are some that will dislike the gesture.
