Compared tothe Remake,Final Fantasy 7 Rebirthoffers a significantly larger and more expansive world, filled with wide-ranging adventures as you pursue Sephiroth. With numerous regions to explore, a multitude of open-world activities to complete, and engaging mini-games to partake in, there is certainly no shortage of things to do in this game.
Similar to other open-world experiences, side quests are an integral part of the gameplay. However, they don’t always revolve around finding treasure or reclaiming old equipment. Sometimes, they can be as straightforward as assisting an old grandmother in locating her missing chickens.
How To Begin O Chicken, Where Art Thou
Interesting name for a side quest, isn’t it?The O Chicken, Where Art Thou quest becomes available toward the end of Chapter 9, and you canpick it up from the Community board in the Gongaga hub area.
Once you’ve accepted the quest, it willdirect you to a grandmother named Kazhra, whoseeks your help in catching,well,chickens. To assist you in this endeavor, she will provide you witha feed clanger that can be used to lure her chickens.
Where To Find All The Chickens
After your conversation with Kazhra,you’ll need to follow Red XIII to find the first chicken,located near the grandmother’s location. Here’s what you need to do:use the feed clanger with the up button on the d-pad to lure the chicken. As the chicken approaches,slowly move backward,and if the chicken gets too close to the clanger,press L2.
Once you’ve successfully lured back the first chicken,Red will lead you to the location of the second one. Repeat the same process: use the feed clanger and move backward toward the grandmother’s house slowly while the chicken follows the feed clanger.
If the chicken gets distracted anda question mark appears above its head, you need tostop moving and wait until it turns back to an exclamation mark. Only then, the chicken will refocus on the feed clanger.
After successfully luring back the second chicken,follow Red again to the third location, where you’ll find the third chicken in the village. The process remains the same, but this time, the third chickenmight attempt to charge at the feed clanger.
You’ll know when this happens ifit has three dots above its head. To prevent this,you need to yank the feed clanger back at the right time using L2andcontinue to lead the bird back to the grandmother’s location.
Even if you happen to fail when the chicken charges,simply throw the feed clanger again to regain the chicken’s interestand lure it back to the grandmother’s location.
Now, the fourth chicken is a bit more adventurous and runs off out of the village. Like with the other chickens,follow Red,who will lead you to the last chicken’s location. Once again,use the feed clanger to lure her back. However, this time,a monster will interrupt the process, and you’ll need to defeat Levridon.
Levridon’s weakness is Ice, so be sure to use it topressure him and then stagger him to deal more damage. Once you’ve dealt with the monster, the chicken will thankfully make its way back to Kazhra, so you won’t have to lure it all the way back.
All that’s left for you to do is report to her, and she’ll be delighted to have all her chickens back. For your efforts, you’ll receiveEXP, Party EXP, and your relationship with Red XIII will change.
