Backpack Battlesis a newly released game on Steam that has received its fair share of positive reviews from the gaming community. Unlike other games that contain a restricted number of game modes during Early Access, Backpack Battles took it to the next level by introducing Ranked Mode.
However, an issue encountered by most players in the game is that they cannot deduce the total number of ranks because Backpack Battles has disabled the option to check them, leaving you clueless as to how much grind is required to climb from one rank to another, and what type of competition to expect from players residing in a certain rank.
What Are The Ranks In Backpack Battles?
To start with, there are a total ofeight ranksthat the game offers, starting with the classic approach, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and so on. However, as you progress successfully, you’ll see a slight twist added to the latter position. Here’s a complete list of all the ranks available in Backpack Battles:
The diamond rank is commonly mistaken as being the highest rank in the game. However, there are three more positions above it. If you manage to reach Diamond, you’ll quickly see ashift in player caliber and styleyou compete against.
All Ranks And Their Breakdown
Below, you’ll find a detailed guide on how to maneuver each rank to earn the top spot.
Bronze
Bronze naturally means that you’ve just started in the Ranked section of the game.
As you may expect, however, the players to compete against will be fairly easy to defeat if you have thefundamental knowledge and basic know-howof the game. Furthermore,combining your cards with other elementsstrategically will significantly increase your chances of climbing this rank faster and effortlessly.
A great combo here is that of theWhite-Eyes Blue Dragon (valued at 5 Gold) with the Nocturnal Lock Lifter and the Strong Health Potion.
Silver
You’ll find that the Silver and Gold ranks will be thehardest to climb out of. This can be attributed to the player base of the game, which is fairly low considering its release date. Hence, most players will be available in the above-mentioned ranks.
Therefore,defense is the strongest strategyto defeat the players you have to compete against in Silver. Pair it upwith a unique buildto surprise them and claim victory.
Gold
The Gold-rank introduces players who will most likely havemeta builds with them. And if you’re low on resources — attacking shouldn’t be your priority.
Therefore, building a defense that revolves around the equipment ofgemmed shields and Dark Gemswill serve as the best counter against the metaclass.
Platinum
Platinum marks the beginning of thetoughest portion of your Ranked Mode journeyin Backpack Battles. The players you’ll encounter here will most likely have builds thatcontainnumerous add-ons on them.
And like yourself, they’ve fairly equipped themselves with the skillset to improvise their gameplay with respect to their opponent’s playing style. Hence,choosing the right class herewill definitely pay off. An honorable mention here goes to thePyromancer Abuse Build.
Diamond
If you’ve made it this far in the game, you’re probably in thetop 5 percentile of playerswith the most skill. However, the thing with Diamond players (and above) is that they’re pretty serious about this game, they’ll assess every move after a game ends, and ensurethere are no loopholesin their strategies moving forward.
To counter such gamers, you must begin to do the same.
Master
Since the game is in Early Access and has a low player base, you’ll most likely have towait for a while before getting into a gameat this rank. Though such problems start to arise when you reach Diamond, they’ll naturally become worse in Master (and above.)
Once you do find a match, however, you’ll find that the players coming here are significantly difficult to counter because they’ve got all the fundamental knowledge about their builds and their counter classes.
Grandmaster
Grandmaster is thesecond-highest rankin the game. Think of it as themaster rank, buttwice as hard.
Grandma
If you’ve reached the Grandma rank, it means that you’re one ofthe few greats in the game. Multiple players who have reached this rank state that the onlyusable build here is RNG, and every player is pretty much using the same class.
Hence, if you haven’t gotten hold of an RNG class yet, you might not stay in this rank for long.
