Nintendorevealed its up-to-date sales figures this week, confirming theSwitchis closing in on 140 million consoles sold after shifting another 6.5 million over the holidays. The update also provided a first clear indicator of how wellSuper Mario Bros. Wonderhas sold during its first few months. Selling just shy of 12 million copies, Wonder is not only already among the 20 best-selling Switch games ever, but it is apparently the fastest-selling Mario game of all time.
Nintendo is clearly eager to see those numbers continue to grow asWonder is currently on sale at Amazon. Walmart has followed suit, also reducing the price of the latest 2D Mario game by $10. You will potentially get something extra for choosing Walmart over Amazon in this instance though, as the former appears to have additional stock of the exclusive trading cards it gave to customers for pre-ordering Wonder at Walmart.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder
WHERE TO PLAY
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a brand new 2D Mario game launching exclusively on Nintendo Switch. Reimagining the original Mario game format yet again, it will include a lot of firsts for the series such as Elephant Mario and a playable Princess Daisy.
Nintendeal appears to have been among the first to realize Walmart has additional stock of the trading cards, highlighting that their availability may well be dictated by where you are in the US. Since I live in the UK, when I check Wonder’s store page, the image in the post below that includes the cards appears briefly before being replaced by one with just a copy of the game. You can test for yourselves if the trading cards are available in your part of the world through the link in the box above.
There are five cards in each pack with 20 to collect. UnlikePokemon, you can’t just buy another pack in an attempt to catch ‘em all. Customers who buy Wonder at Walmart get one pack, which means buying at least four copies of the game to even stand a chance of getting all 20, and even then it’s unlikely. Best to stick to the one copy, and one pack of cards, and cross your fingers that you get the limited edition Holofoil Elephant Mario card.
Even if you’re not lucky enough to live somewhere Walmart still has stock of the Wonder trading cards, if you don’t own a copy of the game already, you can now buy it for less than it cost at launch. Almost anyone with a Switch will know a Mario game as popular as this one getting any price reduction at all is extremely rare.Mario Kart 8 Deluxeis almost seven years old and, 60 million copies later, is almost always still full price at $60.
