After rescuing Eltolinde, your next main story stop inUnicorn Overlordwill be to unbind the Ring of the Unicorn at the Nasthirion. To do so you must past through the mysteriously abandoned forest of thorns. Of course, Baltro, the enigmatic sorcerer working with Zenoiran, shows up to bar the Liberation Army’s path with an army of reanimated corpses.
This fight is full of surprises since unlike in previous fights, doesn’t warn you about them beforehand. Add on an unlimited number of undead enemies to bar your path, and players will have to be shrewd to make it all the way to Baltro and escape the forest.

Liberation Command Post is captured
Time runs out
Your main enemy in this map is not necessarily Baltro so much as it isthe thick bed of thorns covering the entire map. Like with the questErvélda, Guardian of the Fae, your unitswill not naturally avoid taking damage unless you specifically direct them away.
While the enemies will go down easily, there’s an unlimited number of them that can be spawned, so you have to fight through them quickly before you’re overwhelmed by the environment.
Fran/Celeste/Ochlys/Hilda
Gryphon Master/Feathersword/Wyvern Master
This is a map built around a field hazard, which flying units naturally ignore. Be careful though, as enemies are designed to target them specifically.
Miriam/Monica
Sainted Knight
Almost every enemy on this map will use Magick, so their high Magick Defense is useful.
Chloe
Sergeant
Chloe’s ability to hit a whole column of enemies is very useful against Baltro.
Lhinalagos/Ridiel/Galadmir
Elven Archer
They can make use of Watchtowers to assist your party members, and Merciful Rain can counteract damage from the thorns.
Nina/Mordon/Kitra
Breaker
There’s a barricade guarding a ballista that you want out of the way as quickly as possible for your flying units' sake.
Flying units are a must-have in this map,as they do not take damage from thorns and can help you get to Baltro quickly. Unfortunately, the game anticipates this, so you have tobe careful of ballistae and archers.
For this map, you should craft units with your fliers as leaders butbe prepared to switch as necessaryto take advantage of other leader skills and avoid certain damage.
Best Battle Strategy For Vile Desecration
Deploy three units with a flier as the leader in each of them and thenone unit to stay behind to guard the Command Post.
Send one fliernorthwest towards Kalfaara Garrisonand take out the enemy sorcerer, have one unit with a Breaker toget rid of the barricades due norththen go take out the ballista, and the third one should take out the enemy on the Watchtower thengarrison at the campgrounds.
Deploy another flying unit from the Command Post, and have themget an Elven Archer up to the northern Watchtower. Take it, and then switch so your Elven Archer is the leader.
Have the unit at the campgrounds and the unit who took out the first ballista take out the second ballista next to the Watchtower, thensend them to the enemy Elven Archer at Fort Korim.
The unit you sent to Kalfaara Garrison can either join up with the units heading to Fort Korimor start towards Valtaat Garrison, which is held by an Elven Archer.
Once you’ve taken Valtaat Garrison, use the campgrounds next to it to heal up all your units before you fight Baltro.
Baltro’s battle forecastwill not be entirely accuratebecause he is a necromancer. He raises the Dark Knight and Landsknecht in front of him to attack your party and that doesn’t get taken into account.
However, if Baltro falls, the fight ends, so you should focuson having units that can attack columns like Chloe, Fran, and Celeste attacking him, or have your Elven Archer on standby with ranged assists to get rid of him quickly.
