The purpose of saving the world does sound quite noble, honorable, and heroic, doesn’t it? However, how far would you go to save the world? Would you kidnap innocent people and sacrifice them to the dark god that clouds your mind, even if you knew whether this god was real or not?
That’s the premise ofLife Eater. In this intriguing game, you must stalk your victims, find the target desired by your god, Zimforth, and perform the ritual correctly. Otherwise, you cannot save the world. If you’re ready to be a worthy servant to Zimforth, it’s beneficial to read through these starter tips.
Use Your Downtime Actions And Points Effectively
Unfortunately, the tutorial at the beginning of the game doesn’t completely explain everything, so you need to know this part. Firstly, as you already know, to uncover what your targets are doing throughout the day,you need to take some invasive actions, such as observing them, hacking their computers, rummaging through their trash, and more.
As you perform these actions, the time given to you by Zimforth decreases, while thepercentage of suspicion of your victims increases. In other words, the more invasive actions you take, the more suspicious your victims become. You can understand this from the categorization of actions into three types:

25 percent
However, in the game, you canreduce your victims' suspicion by performing Downtime actionsand spending the time bestowed upon you by Zimforth. Additionally, next to the Downtime section, there is a small icon resembling an alien head. Here’s what each Downtime action provides:

Five hours
50 percent
Seven hours
Nine hours
100 percent

To the right of the Downtime text, you can see how many points you have in total. If you take any invasive action, you canuse Downtime Points without increasing the Suspicion Meter. They arelocated to the right of your action.
In particular, if youuse these points with level three actions, which increase suspicion the most, it will be more beneficial for you.
Ensure The Accuracy Of Your Information
Once you’re certain that your target is the right person,try to uncover their daily schedule completely.Therefore, strive to fill up the percentage bar on them as much as possible. The reason for this is thatyou might miss a critical piece of information.
It’s a good idea to write down information about your victim in a notebook to confirm its accuracy.Incorrect information or a critical detail left undiscovered could result in failure.The information you need to be certain about includes:
For example, if you’ve kidnapped your victim without being completely sure about them, perhaps they could have a commute in the part of their timeline that you haven’t uncovered. Therefore, you’ll need all the information before performing your ritual, “Water the Flowers.”
The Solutions Never Change
The information you gather about the person you’ll abduct and sacrifice doesn’t actually change.Thevictim’s position in the timeline may shufflewith others, and in fact,their name may change with each attempt. However, theother information you’ll need when sacrificing them remains constant.
Therefore, when performing your ritual “Water the Flowers,” if you’ve abducted the right person, your actions will always be the same.
For example, if you need to remove a victim’s Pancreas, Small Intestine, and Left Lung. Let’s say you made a mistake and failed. The solution remains the same. You will still need to remove the same internal organs or ribs to complete the chapter.
The Chapter’s Initial Message Is Vital
The game’s early stages seem quite easy because there’s only one person you need to abduct, and they’re the only ones on the timeline. As you progress to the next chapters, the number of people on the timeline increases, but you’re still required to identify and abduct the correct person (or persons).You mustn’t just randomly abduct someone.
It’s crucial to identify the victim Zimforth wants. Therefore, you mustpay attention to the message shown to you at the beginning.For instance, the message might practically indicate that the person has died. You need to find someone among the three potential victims who lives life like a dead person.
Alternatively, you might be asked to find a victim who holds two jobs. Thus, you’ll need to thoroughlyuncover what your targets are doing on the timeline.
Don’t Hesitate To Acquire Strike Counters
It’s crucial to monitor your remaining time. If time is short, and you haven’t received any Strike Counters before, you can play more aggressively. This means that even if the Suspicion Meter increases, and you receive Strike Counters, it won’t matter, asyou need to accumulate three Strike Counters in total to fail.
So, when the Suspicion Meter increases, and you haven’t received any strikes yet,there’s no need to engage in Downtime activities to reduce the Suspicion Meter.Doing so would waste your valuable time. Instead, it would be more logical to accumulate Strike Counters, as they reset the Suspicion Meter when obtained.
Therefore, if you have little time left and acquiring Strike Counters isn’t an issue, spending your time on Downtime activities could cause you to lose the game due to time constraints.
Instead of spending time on Downtime activities, employing highly invasive actions to decipher your victims' timelines proves more beneficial.
Choose Low-Time, Low-Suspicion Actions
When deciphering the actions taken by your target in their timeline, you’re given three invasive action options. As you know, their levels and the increase in suspicion meter are the same for all. However, thetime spent on each action varies.Therefore, touse time and Strike Counters efficiently, you must choose the best option among them. For example, in a situation like this:
If your time is limited and you haven’t used many strike counters, opting for the third level action, the last one, would be logical.
But if you’re short on time and have used up all the strike counters, the second action, Set Fire Nearby, would be sensible. This is becausethe first action takes five hours, consuming a lot of your time, and the last action isn’t a good idea as it increases suspicion by 25 percent.
Do Not Persistently Attempt The Same Action
Sometimes,using a low-level invasive action may not suffice.If the screen flickers and the scheduled block you’re trying to open doesn’t open, it means you’ve used an action with an insufficient level.
In this case,using the same action again won’t help.Instead, you shoulduse an action of a higher level.Additionally, in some cases, even using a third-level action may not work. This means you need to find a different way to open that schedule block. Either focus on the schedule blocks of the same target or other targets initially.
Don’t Focus On One Person Only
Zimforth may sometimes request you to capture and sacrifice only one person. However,solely focusing on one person may not always be effective in certain chapters.As they say, people are mirrors of each other. If you’re certain about capturing a specific individual, attempt to decipher all their schedule blocks.
If you’re unsure whether the person you’re dealing with is the right target,some colored schedule blocks may provide clues.For instance, your targets may have participated in a common activity or interacted with each other at some point.
To further illustrate, if two targets attended the same party at the same time when you unlocked their schedule blocks, and if the third target’s schedule block size is the same as the others', it implies all of them did the same thing.
Sometimes, examining others rather than your target may give you a better idea of finding the person you’re looking for. For example, even if someone isn’t your target,unlocking their schedule block might reveal an actionthey took concerning your target among others.
In short, unlocking the schedule blocks of a person you’re certain about may not lead you to success in some chapters. Therefore,focusing on more than one target will be logicalfor understanding the events.
