As you explore the new world inLightyear Frontier, you’ll find that there are numerous things for you to do. It can all be overwhelming if you don’t know where to start, but thankfully, we have a few tips and tricks that will help you and your Mech get accustomed to the new frontier.
From farming to gathering resources, you’ll be moving around a lot. Your homestead location is important, as well as where to allocate your resources. If you take care of the planet, it will take care of you. Here’s everything you need to know to get started!
The most important thing you can do isplace your homestead near water. As you’ll often be farming, you’ll need plenty of water. Unless you want to trek a long way to a water source, orwait for a rainy day, you’ll need nearby,consistent access to water.
This is especially important when Hazardous Events happen and require water.
Running to a pond can waste precious time that will create Slime around your farm.
Until youupgrade your Mech to hold more water, you’ll take frequent trips. Being closer to water enables you to get more work done quickly without worrying about your crops suffering.
Keep Producing Oils
One of the materials you’ll need most is oil. No matter what kind of oil it is, you’ll need plenty of it. Once yougain access to the Oil Presser, keep making different oils to build up your supply.
Different oils take longer to make than others. Make the most of your time by crafting more time-consuming oils when you plan to venture off for the day.
Oils areused for crafting, upgrades, and fodder. All of these will help you better explore and manage the surrounding environments, and having a steady supply will make your goals easier. You canfill the queue first thing in the morningeach day, thenstop by after noonto fill it up again.
Plant Trees Often
While you need resources around the planet, they also need you.Trees and rocks won’t regenerate daily, so when you take away from the environment, it’s important to give back.
Planting trees this way gives you the opportunity to do some landscaping, so plant the trees in places that are easily accessible to you.
Planting trees and watering them will helpreplenish the supply on the planet. There’s a chance toget saplings from cutting down trees, so be sure toplant and nuture themoften.
Restore New Areas
The areas around The Meadows arepolluted with Slime and Weeds. These will prevent you from accessing resources specific to each region. Overall, your priority should beupgrading your Mech to clear these areas. The day after they’re cleared, you canfind new materials.
Some areas will be harder to restore than others, so it’s recommended toclean up Pine Heights and Edge Cliffs first. The sooner you may access more resources, the faster you canupgrade your Mech and reach new areas.
Feed The Animals
There are manynew creatures you’ll findonce you restore areas in Lightyear Frontier. Each area has aspecific diet for these animals, and you cancraft fodder to feed them. Feeding three animals (or a nest directly) will help you find more resources in that area the next day.
While traditional ranching isn’t included in Lightyear Frontier,feeding the animals grants rewards. In addition to the resources bonus for the next day, you can alsopick up items that the wildlife drops.
