The annual Team of the Year (TOTY) ritual has come and gone onEA Sports FC 24, and it’s time to crown the best players introduced to the game. This year’s cards offer unique attributes, following the introduction ofPlayStyles and the Playstyle Plus.
Each TOTY player features two PlayStyles Plus, instead of the prior maximum of one, which ushered in a new standard for top-tier cards to meet. It’s no surprise that, given the comparably high attributes of each TOTY player, PlayStyles factor heavily into separating the great options from the best TOTY cards in EA FC 24.
High
While there is a wealth of wingbacks to choose from in this year’s game, Ona Batlle is a step ahead of her competition. Batlle’s claim to fame is largely the result of her mix ofan offensive and defensive PlayStyle Plusto go along with her high work rates.
Incisive Passis an exceptional PlayStyle for cutting through the defense, whileJockeymakes it even tougher to get past this fleet-footed fullback.
Whether you’re using a few Liga F players, or simply need another Spanish link, Ona Batlle should fit into most teams.
Wendie Renard features excellent height at 6'2" to pair with her Aerial and Anticipate PlayStyles, the latter of which is arguablythe best PlayStyle in EA FC. Her ability to pass the ball decently with either foot after gaining possession allows Renard to quickly move the ball out of dangerous areas.
In addition to her solid height for her position, Renard’s 90 Physical features 96 Strength and 84 Jumping – two excellent boons to her defensive toolbox. Renard also pairs nicely with fellow Lyon teammates – Sakina Karchaoui and Selma Bacha – making for a well-rounded backline.
Med
Erling Haaland’s biggest weakness has been his weak foot, and this card eliminates that flaw with its five-star rating. Haaland’s size, strength, and now his versatility to score from either side make him one of the most dangerous threats to face in EA FC.
Power Shot Plus gives Haaland the ability to wind up for a long-range effort, while Aerial Plus ensureshe will win most headers inside the six-yard box. Haaland’s 88 Agility and 85 Balance slightly hold him back, but if you can adjust your play to focus on his strengths, there are only a few better TOTY cards to have.
Rodri is an excellent defensive midfielder who can plug the gaps in just about any team, enabling his teammates to go forward fearlessly with each attack. Rodri’s once-lacklusterPace is upgraded to 88on his TOTY version, with 93 Sprint Speed to ensure he doesn’t get beat easily.
Bruiser boosts Rodri’s defensive presence, enabling him to muscle attackers off the ball, and then refuse to lose possession with Press Proven. If you need a midfielder to stay back and protect your center backs, there’s simply not a better defensive option than Rodri.
Jude Bellingham shares in some of Rodri’s defensive abilities, but is a bit more focused on offense than Man City’s linchpin. Bellinghamfunctions better as a box-to-box, or even an attacking midfielderif you have other stay-back options.
Technical is an exceptional PlayStyle for weaving through defenders and is enhanced by Bellingham’s incredible 96 Dribbling. Instruct Jude to join in on attacking rushes and utilize his Power Shot Plus to threaten opponents with his accurate long-range efforts.
Low
If you weren’t lucky enough to cash in on the glitched player pick that had an incredibly high chance to award Messi, then you’ll have tomake a ton of coinsto afford this offensive juggernaut.
Messi’s Technical and Incisive Pass combination of PlayStyles makes him adept at taking multiple defenders out of the play either alone using his98 Dribblingor through a teammate via his97 Passing. On the ball, Messi is one of, if not the smoothest dribbler in the entire game.
Despite thenerf to Trivela shots with pitch update nine, the queen of Trivelas is still well worth her price, and she still scores in bunches. In her primary Right Wing position, there are few scarier offensive threats than Caroline Graham Hansen.
Her 96 Pace, 93 Shooting, 95 Passing, and 97 Dribbling give Hansen every tool she needs – either by cutting inside to shoot or bystaying wide to utilize her Whipped Cross PlayStyle Plus.
Kevin De Bruyne boasts everything you can ask for in a midfielder, serving as an upgrade to Jude Bellingham’s offensive abilities in almost every way (save for Pace). His attributes jump off the page – highlighted by 98 Passing – and De Bruyne’s play on the field is silky smooth.
Whether you want to run defenders ragged by spreading the field with Pinged Pass, or prefer a more direct approach by relying on his Finesse Shot, KDB is simply a force to be reckoned with on the offensive side.
If you’ve been playing EA FC 24 from the start, then it should come as no surprise that Virgil van Dijk (VVD) is the best TOTY card of all defenders – and could arguably be called the best overall.
VVD is usually extinct on both the PC and console markets, meaning that nobody wants to sell him for even the maximum of 15,000,000 coins.
Gold van Dijk is one of the best defenders in the game, and his TOTY version offers a straight upgrade to every aspect of his performance. If his 96 Defending and 93 Physicality weren’t enough, giving van Dijk theAnticipate PlayStyle Plus along with Blockis more than enough to make him the best defender in EA FC.
Much like van Dijk, Kylian Mbappe’s gold card was already enough to be considered one of thebest attackers in EA FC. However, the addition of Trivela to Mbappe’s already fantastic speed makes him an even more lethal offensive threat.
Whether you need a striker to play centrally or a left winger to create plays out wide, Mbappe can do it all, better than just about anybody else. After all, with 99 Pace, 96 Shooting, and 97 Dribbling, what more could you need to make a forward as lethal as Mbappe?
