Minecraftis a great game, but unless you’re looking at bees all day, the word “cute” probably rarely comes to your mind when you think of it. Thankfully, there are plenty of impressive texture packs out there that can make the experience much cuter, and consequently, make you feel good due to built-in neural, emotional pathways in your brain.

According to the smart folks over at the University of Oxford, we’re hardwired to have our attention gripped by things we find cute; without this instinct, babies, puppies, and other adorable creatures wouldn’t get the attention they need to survive and grow up. Don’t be shy, go feel the fuzzy feelings.

All texture packs are compatible with version 1.20 of Minecraft Java Edition. Some packs mentioned are not all-encompassing; some will only change specific textures, rather than all of them. It is possible to run multiple packs at once.

8Heart Shaped Diamonds

Everybody loves finding and mining diamonds, especially when you get those first three that allow you to make a shiny new pickaxe. If you want to make that moment feel even better, though, grab this texture pack to make them cuter and heart-shaped.

Installing a new texture pack is the easy part; the hard part is the process of finding diamonds. If you want to find diamonds as fast as possible, there are, thankfully, a variety of different ways to achieve that; it’s only a matter of time until you find a preferred method.

7Cute Pumpkins

Have you ever been wandering around a nice, lush grassland or forest, stumble upon a natural pumpkin patch, and become flooded with the feeling that they’re just not cute enough? Okay, maybe that’s a bit hyperbolic, but just look at those adorable orange fellas.

While this texture pack is appropriate for any setting, it might be particularly appreciated near Halloween; it’ll feel more festive, and offset the spooky, scary stuff, like spiders and their cobwebs, or skeletons and their dusty bones.New to carving pumpkins? No big deal, you’ll get the hang of it in no time.

Cute, retextured cows and bulls with horns grazing on grass during a sunset.

6Cozy Critters

With this texture pack, all of your favorite domestic animals, like chickens, pigs, sheep, cows, and even Mooshrooms will become cuter and even easier to appreciate than before. Perhaps choosing farming as a profession isn’t so bad after all?

For added variety, and perhaps to make evolutionary pioneer Charles Darwin giggle from his grave, this pack also randomizes certain traits for each retextured mob. As you’re exploring, you’ll come across different cow horn lengths, sheep horn types, and unique ear and tusk shapes for pigs.

A cute, 4x4 scene showing sand, gravel, dirt, trees, grass, and a river.

5Fourté

As long as you don’t mind the relatively simple, limited design of “4x4” texture packs, Fourté provides such a cute and cozy experience that even the Nether doesn’t feel all that scary anymore. Although, that might be unfortunate if it leads to you letting your guard down.

But, that’s probably a potential risk you’re willing to chance, in exchange for a clean, bright pastel aesthetic intended to evoke feelings of whimsy.Speaking of the Nether, though, be sure to keep a shield handy and some gold armor; it’s the least you could do to protect yourself.

4BlockPixel

BlockPixel is an enchanting, “16x” texture pack that’s been worked on since 2011. It changes pretty much every aspect of the game, and is packed with rich, thoughtful features, such as:

Combined with one of your favorite shader packs, your game is sure to look stunning. Plus, the food in this pack looks so cute you almost don’t want to eat it.

An orange, fox-themed bed with a white pillow in a small room with sweet berry bushes inside.

3Fancy Beds

For whatever reason, interior design and decoration seems to be one of the most overlooked and difficult aspects of a build. Usually, once a house or base is built, you throw a furnace, chests, a crafting table, and a bed inside and call it a day.

The very least you can do is install this texture pack, and give yourself more of an incentive to change the color of your bed, since each color has a unique texture to accompany it. Who knows, it might even inspire you to make a cute, dedicated bedroom.

2Hafen

In this texture pack, pretty much everything is soft and cute looking, except for some of the mobs you might find in the End or the Nether, like Endermen or Ghasts; they’re still pretty creepy. But other retextured mobs, like goats and Sniffers, more than make up for that.

While there’s much to be appreciated, the Hafen pack does a particularly good job with short flora and foliage, such as mushrooms, flowers, and ferns, and wood-based blocks, like logs and planks. If settling down in forests feels bland to you, it might be time for a change in scenery.

1Tooniverse

With a name like Tooniverse, it’s easy to understand how this texture pack manages to look incredibly cute, given the nature of cartoons and their tendency to implement soft, smooth, and rounded features in the drawing and animation process.

While Tooniverse alters every texture you could think of, please go out of your way to find Axolotls, squids, flowers, bees, and foxes; you’ll surely succumb to the overwhelming feeling of cuteness overload. That’s not to mention how cool caves end up looking in this pack, or how cozy domestic interiors can be.
