After the initial release, many changes were made toThe Finalsto bring the light class into the meta; we’re happy to say that it’s now in a much better spot. While the lack of health points could deter some players from trying this fun character, its unique movement and deception abilities make up for it. If you like fast, energetic FPS gameplay, this is your main.
The light class specializes in extremely fast movement, deception tactics, and exotic weaponry. While the heavy and the medium are more stat-focused, the light class is all about outplay potential and closing plays for the squad.

The Basics Of The Light Class
The light classacts like a specialist. It’s not a dedicated DPS machine due to its low health pool, which can severely hinder its 1v1 potential, but it can serve many different playstyles based on diversion and fast movements to easily close plays for a squad.
If you’re playing light, you’ll be expected togenerate chaos and deal damage from off angleswhen your team is trading with another squad. Because of this, a decent light player will make everyone on the opposing team have their heads on a swivel during every fight.

While the light class has thelowest hit point pool in the game, it also features thesmallest modeland thefastest move speed; these stats are the most important to consider when you’re playing light. Wait for your team to be fighting and enter the scene to change the outcome by doing damage from angles inaccessible to other classes.
Finding weird angles can be achieved by different methods depending on your specialization and weapon of choice. While 1v1s are possible, they are not recommended, especially if you’re not an advanced FPS player.

As a light player, you’ll get pushed by every single class if you get shot just once, as everyone knows that you’ll fall with almost no damage; use that to your advantage and bait careless plays from enemy squads. Although it’s possible to be a lone wolf while playing the light class,it’s better to try your plays during the chaos of a team fightto take advantage of your best specializations.
The Light Class Equipment
While the light class already comes with the M11, the sword, some useful gadgets, and the cloaking device as your starter equipment, toplay with more exotic weaponry and better gadgets, you’ll have to unlock them one by one using VRS points.
When starting, you’ll have tofocus on close-quarter chases andoff-angles using the M11 or the sword, but focus on unlocking the XP-54 smg or the LH1 rifle to expand your playstyle options. If you want to double down and dominate close-quarters fights even more, unlock the SH1900 shotgunand have fun.

The cloaking device is still the best specialization for light in the game, although there’s a case for evasive dash or even grappling hook; these specializations just allow for less competitive playstyles, especially for casual players.Save your VRS points for gadgets when starting.
Regarding gadgets, the stun gun, the vanishing bomb, and the glitch grenade are the most important gadgets in a light build’s arsenal; these are the ones to unlock first if you just want to dominate early on your journey without that much effort.

If you plan to play solo a lot, you’ll also want to unlock the breaching charge early on. In some matches, you’ll be pressed to find an entry point into a room or a building, and this mini-C4 can speed up some team plays if you don’t have a heavy class on your team.
After unlocking the first important gadgets, you cango for evasive dash for a more mobile playstylewhile using your vanishing bombs as your cloaking mechanism. There are many options to serve diverse playstyles. Here are all the items you will gain access to as a light contestant:

Viability
Cloaking Device
Temporary cloak that makes you nearly invisible while being still and hard to see when moving. While the duration is low, the kind of plays you can make with it are just not possible with any other specialization in the game.
Meta
Evasive Dash
Specialization that makes you dash quickly in any direction to get closer or further from your enemies depending on the situation. Movement players will tend to choose this one.
Viable
Grappling Hook
Hook attached to a cord to scale different surfaces quickly and easily. you’re able to even change the contestant’s direction midair for some sick escapes and close-quarter plays that come from a mile away.
M11
Fully automatic small machine pistol with a fast fire rate and a 40-round magazine to go with it. This is a close-quarters powerhouse with good damage but mediocre range and a wild recon pattern.
XP-54
Automatic sub-machine gun with a fast fire rate, good damage, and a 30-round magazine. This one is similar to the M11 but has a greater range at the cost of bullet count. It’s entirely possible to one-clip heavies with this one, but it’s trickier than the M11, especially in close quarters.
V9S
Semi-automatic pistol with a 15-round magazine will dominate in close quarters if you hit all your shots. It’s a gun that rewards technical players that can hit follow-up shots easily.
SH1900
Double-barrel shotgun with great damage up close at the cost of a really wide spread that renders it almost useless at longer ranges. If you find a good angle with this weapon, you’ll find a kill.
Sword
Highly-damaging melee weapon that can work in close-quarters fights. It features two types of attacks: a normal attack that’s spammable and a lunging attack that demands a charge-up animation to be performed.
Mediocre
LH1
Semi-automatic battle rifle with high damage per bullet, especially headshots, and a 15-round magazine. Its range is almost infinite, but the recoil is very high. It’s a rewarding gun for experienced players.
Dagger
Melee weapon that features two types of attacks: a normal attack that’s spammable and a backstabbing attack. For mobility players looking for a casual experience, it barely works.
SR-84
Bolt-action sniper rifle that features a high-zoom scope. ADS time is extremely fast, but the damage is not high enough to compensate for its low rate of fire. At least it’s a fun gun to use.
Throwing Knives
Knives that can be thrown without ADSing. They feature two types of attacks: one that throws a pair of knives in quick succession and another one that throws both knives at the same time for maximum damage. The secondary attack must be charged four seconds before shooting.
Frag Grenade
Two frag grenades that explode shortly after being thrown; they can be thrown overhand by pressing the fire button or underhand by pressing the aiming button.
Goo Grenade
Two grenades that explode into blobs of goo that will solidify to create a barrier; they can be thrown overhand by pressing the fire button or underhand by pressing the aiming button.
Pyro Grenade
One grenade that acts like a Molotov, exploding upon impact with any surface and covering it with fire for a few seconds. It’s great for controlling access points and burning gas away. It can be thrown overhand by pressing the fire button or underhand by pressing the aiming button.
Smoke Grenade
One grenade that explodes into a smoke screen that covers the colored outline of players passing through it. It can be thrown overhand by pressing the fire button or underhand by pressing the aiming button.
Gas Grenade
One grenade that explodes into a cloud of toxic gas; the gas does damage over time while contestants go through it. It can be thrown overhand by pressing the fire button or underhand by pressing the aiming button.
Flashbang
One grenade that blinds, deafens, and disorients enemy players for a short period of time. It can be thrown overhand by pressing the fire button or underhand by pressing the aiming button.
Glitch Grenade
Two grenades that disable specializations and gadgets deployed on the battlefield. It also disables enemy players' UI. It can be thrown overhand by pressing the fire button or underhand by pressing the aiming button.
Vanishing Bomb
One grenade that cloaks you or any teammates close to the explosion radius. It explodes upon impact with any surface. It can be thrown overhand by pressing the fire button or underhand by pressing the aiming button.
Breach Charge
One charge of highly potent explosives that can be detonated remotely. Great to remove walls or slabs to create access points in a second.
Motion Sensor
Three devices that detect enemy players moving close to them and reveal them to the whole team. Great to place on stairs and doors. It needs line of sight to work.
Stun Gun
Little gun that stuns and slows opponents for a short period of time. Enemies that are stunned will not be able to aim down sights but will be able to shoot back.
Thermal Vision
Device that reveals enemies' heat signatures; it can be used to shoot down enemies inside a smoke screen or to negate enemy players' cloaking devices.
