Genshin Impacthas been at the top of the Gacha food chain ever since its release, and there have been various new characters introduced to the game with every update. However, Xianyun’s release is quite special because of what she brings to the table.
Xianyun is a five-star Anemo healer, previously known as Cloud Retainer in the Liyue region. She uses Catalyst as a weapon, and her kit revolves around buffing the Plunge Attack mechanic in the game. If you build her correctly, you can not only use her to buff Xiao, but also use any DPS character you want.
The Best Xianyun Builds
Once you try Xianyun out even in her trial, you’ll realize that she’s a force to be reckoned with even though she doesn’t stay on the field for too long. Her Elemental Skill can be used up to three times, and your final damage of the Plunge Attackincreases based on the number of times you use this ability.
You enter a Cloud Transmogrification state after using the Skill even once, andyou don’t take any fall damage for its duration. However, the main function of this ability is to provide her Energy for her Elemental Burst, which is themain part of her kit unless you have the sixth Constellation.

After using the Elemental Burst, Xianyun constantly heals all party members andgives the team up to eight free Plunge Attackswhile also increasing the Plunge Attack DMG. With all this in mind, the main build most players can have on this character is a support build. However, there is a DPS possibility in a very specific scenario.
Weapons
Crane’s Echoing Call, Memory Of Dust, Favonius Codex, Oathsworn Eye
Ever since the start of Genshin Impact, one set that has stayed in the meta is the Viridescent Venerer setbecause of how overpowered it is on an Anemo support unit. It increases Xianyun’s Swirl DMG while also decreasing the opponent’s RES to the element Swirled by 40 percent. This effect can be applied to multiple elements at the same time.
This is the best in slot set for Xianyunbecause of her AoE Anemo application in both the Skill and Burst. While you can also replace this with Noblesse Oblige if you have better pieces, you won’t get nearly as much value from the set bonus.
Noblesse provides you with extra ATK Percent, which isless than the RES shredyou get from Viridescent.
Moreover, extra ATK Percent isn’t necessarily good forcertain DPS characterslike Furina or Neuvillette.

Crane’s Echoing Call
Being Xianyun’s signature weapon, thisgives her everything she needs to be perfect. With the extra ATK, Energy, and party-wide Plunge ATK DMG increase, you can use it on her without a second thought.
Memory Of Dust
This is another great weapon for Xianyun since it can give her a ton of ATK Percent,especially if you’re using her with a shielderlike Zhongli or Navia’s Crystallize shards.
Favonius Codex
If Xianyun is the only Anemo character in your party,you’ll come across Energy problems with her quite often. Favonius Codex and a bit of Crit Rate can solve these problems.
However, you will need tostack a lot more ATKon her artifacts if you’re using this.
Oathsworn Eye
Finally, this can be a great weapon for her if you’re using her with a battery since it gives her extra ATK andincreases her Energy Recharge for a bitafter using her Skill.
You can use the battery character’s particle generationafter using Xianyun’s Skillwith this to get extra value.
Golden Troupe, Desert Pavilion Chronicle
Kagura’s Verity, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds, Blackcliff Agate, Mappa Mare, Solar Pearl
Before diving deeper into this build, it’s important to mention that itloses a lot of its value if you don’t have Xianyun on constellation six, which is going to be the case for most people. However, you’re able to still give it a shot if you have the right pieces and weapons.
The best way to use this build is by putting a ton of off-field elemental applicators like Xiangling, Furina, Raiden Shogun, or Rosaria in Xianyun’s team and thenusing the Plunge ATK DMG buff from her Ultimate to buff her own attackswhile constantly swirling elements.
Off-field characters like Xingqiu or Yelan don’t work too well with this build sincethey need active character’s Normal Attacks.
You’ll be using Xianyun’s Plunge Attacks most of the time here.
If you’ve taken your Xianyun to constellation six, you can useGolden Troupe and Kagura’s Verity on this build without a second thought. However, the rest of the options are there if you want to try this build out at zero constellations alongside good buffers like Faruzan or Bennett.
Artifact Stat Priority For Xianyun
As a support character, building Xianyun’s artifacts is quite easysince you’re only looking for a couple of stats. However, it becomes significantly harder if you’re trying to build her as a DPS since you’ll need some of the rarest stats like Crit Rate and DMG. Here are the stat priorities for both builds:
ATK Percent
Energy Recharge > Elemental Mastery
You need about 230 percent Energy Recharge on Xianyunif she’s going to be the only Anemo characterin your team.
Crit DMG/Rate > ATK Percent > Energy Recharge
Xianyun Talent Priority
Upgrading a new character in Genshin Impact takes quite a lot of time, especially in the Talent area since you need to farm a bunch of materials. Xianyun, much like every other character,has three active talents that can be upgraded ten times. However, you don’t necessarily need to put resources in all of them.
Her Elemental Burst takes priority since this is the Skill thatdecides how much healing and Plunge DMG Bonus will be givento your party members. you’re able to then focus on her Elemental Skill to give her some extra multipliers on the final DMG. However, you can ignore her Normal Attack talent unless you’re going for the DPS build.
