Deep Rock Galactic: Survivoris a bullet heaven by way of rock and stone, taking the setting and techno-dwarven miners ofGhost Ship Games’ flagship titleand applying it to the prolific genre originated byVampire Survivors.
Like other games in the genre, there are plenty of options for weaponry to choose from and plenty of enemies to use them against. From common shooter staples like shotguns, assault rifles, and pistols to more…esoteric armaments like trick grenades, element sprayers, and more. There’s a lot to choose from. With so many options, some simply rise to the top, and these are the best of them.

Deep Rock Galactic Survivors is currently in Early Access. The information below may become outdated as the game updates.
7Krakatoa Sentinel
This is a bit of a niche but surprisingly potent pick given that most [Constructs] are underpowered and that, for the most part, [Kinetic] beats out elemental damage in most situations. Still, the Krakatoa does decent work.
Theturrets deploy quicklyand have a high rate of fire, adding up [Fire] damage quickly. Of all the elemental damage weapons, the Krakatoa is best at leveraging the advantage they have over [Kinetic] weapons, which is dealing area of effect damage, allowing it to turn waves of bugs into bug BBQ.

6Impact Axe
The Impact Axe is a strange beast. With its small explosion and low rate of fire, it almost acts likea really localized grenade. However, it beats out every grenade in some important ways: it deals bigger damage, has one of the best knockbacks in the game, and, most notably, has a far shorter reload time than all other [Throwable] weapons, save perhaps the Voltaic Stun Sweeper. This is further enhanced by the Impact Axe dealing damage on the return trip.
While it still has too long of a recovery to be a ‘main’ weapon past the first level on the later hazards, the usefulness of the Impact Axe never really falls off either, giving you a bump of damage and some breathing room even into the later rounds.

5“Warthog” Auto 210
Though it takes some skill (and a few levels in upgrades) to truly shine, the Warthog should not be slept on. The Auto 210 is directional fire, meaning it shoots only in the direction you’re facing, which can leave it feeling unwieldy.
However, it also has a high capacity and fire rate on rip, not to mention decent damage and the ability to penetrate through multiple enemies (just don’t convert it to Plasma). In addition tofiring in a wide spray arc, this weapon also has some decent knockback, which is compounded by its multiple waves of fire per clip. It keeps enemies at bay, even some of the bigger ones, so what’s not to love? It’s unwieldy, unfortunately.

4Deepcore GK2
Your first weapon in the game and all-around reliable workhorse, the GK2 never really goes out of style. While it’s not flashy, nor does it come close to performing at the levels of the true heavy hitters in the game, it’s still solidly midground and will never let you down.
No fancy aiming required. Deepcore GK2 fires a brace of bullets toward your enemy regardless of your facing, which makes it great for running and gunning without regard for positioning other than avoiding hits. It’s also quite customizable compared to the other weapons in the game. With some luck, it can be integrated into most builds and, with its Unstable Overclock, even be the star of the show.

3M1000 Classic
While shot for shot, the M1000 isn’t killing the most enemies, it still fulfills an important role: big game hunting. While the small fry are plentiful, it’s arguably the bigger bugs (usually the ones with HP Bars) that you actually have to worry about.
This weapon is for the Elite class of enemies, firing a big, damaging shell with a relatively long cooldown between shots. It also targets the enemy with the most HP nearby. While the M1000 Classic chunks down big dudes, it also hits through enemies, so you get to squish a line of little guys as the bullet travels through your true prey.

2“Hurricane” Guided Rocket System
Truly, few things are as magnificent as a swarm of missiles flying out to blast your foes, and when it comes to dealing out explosions, the Hurricane is without comparison. While each missile’s explosion deals a relatively small amount of damage, this weapon puts out a lot of them, with its Overclock upgrades giving it more.
In terms of AoE damage, there aren’t many in the game that are on par with the Hurricane, and almost all of them are based on elemental damage. However, this one trumps them all by primarily dealing the best damage type of all: [Kinetic]. This weapon even bypasses a common weakness of [Kinetic] weapons by targeting the back lines of enemy swarms.

When absolutely every bug has to be splattered, look no further than the Thunderhead. This weapon has it all: big damage, big knockback, and lots of shots. It doesn’t even suffer from a (very) long reload.
This big beauty squishes small bugs and chunks down big ones, all the while battering them around and leaving you untouchable in whatever direction it’s firing in. A possible Overclock even allows these rounds to penetrate through bugs, scouring and scrambling enemy lines.
Its only real drawback is a somewhat idiosyncratic firing method. The Thunderhead picks a target (largest HP nearby) and fires in the direction that the target was in. It then continues firing in that direction regardless of the target’s current location until it runs out of ammo.
