Given the five-vs-five competitive nature ofValorant, you probably already know that it’s quite hard to win every game relying solely on the power of your favorite agent. As you climb higher in the ranks, it becomes more and more necessary to find synergies within your team and use them to your advantage.
This is especially true for a Controller agent like Clove who can block certain areas for the enemies but can’t necessarily capitalize on them. Their kit is also designed to take the fight to the enemies, but you can’t do that without having some specific characters on your team.
Function
Mosh Pit
Creates an area of poison that dealsregular damage to the enemieswith a bigger instance of damage at the end.
Wingman
Whenever an enemy comes in its line of sight, Wingman chases the enemy andapplies the concuss effecton them.
Dizzy
If an enemy is in Dizzy’s line of sight,throws a plasmato blind them for a bit.
If you’replaying Valorant with a duo, you’ll arguably have the most fun playing both Clove and Gekko together since both of these agents are quite satisfying to play. The main reason for this synergy to work is that Wingman can essentially give you wall hacks if you’re certain that there’s an enemy near Clove’s smoke.
Simply let Wingman go through the smoke and it’ll automatically turn towards the enemy as soon as it locates them. you’re able to then spray in that direction and get a free kill. Apart from this, you can also use Mosh Pit inside the smoke to delay the enemies further or pop flash out of it with Dizzy, leaving enemies with little time to react.

Undercut
Allows you to throw a bolt that can go through walls and leaveAgents that come in contact with it in a Vulnerable state.
Iso’s synergy with Clove might be a little more conventional and situational, but it can give you quite a lot of value in specific situations. If you’re trying to push an area through the smoke, the best idea is to use Contingency in the direction where an enemy could be holding an angle from afar and slowly clearing all the close angles.
However, you’ll get the best use out of this synergy when you know that a bunch of enemies are grouped in a small hallway on the other side of Clove’s smoke. You can simply use Iso’s Undercut along with Clove’s decay and push out of it to get some easy kills.
Curveball
Curves a fireball in your preferred direction,blinding every enemy looking at itwhen it explodes.
Hot Hands
Throws a molly thatdeals constant damagein the designated area.
Pop flashes are one of the most uncounterable mechanics in Valorant, and Controller agents like Clove make them all the more easier to perform. This refers to the flashes where an enemy won’t have any time to react and look away. Phoenix’s flash already comes in this category due to the small reaction time given to the enemies.
However, Clove takes it to the next level since your flashes can truly become uncounterable when you do it through their smoke. You can also use Clove’s decay with the Hot Hands ability from Phoenix on a group of enemies to defeat them almost instantly.
Trailblazer
Allows you to control an animal that can be used tofind enemies in a certain areaand concuss them.
Guiding Light
Allows you to control a bird that can bedetonated to blind every enemyin sight.
Skye was one of the few Agents who were released in quite a strong position, and she’s received regular nerfs ever since. However, this doesn’t make her synergy with Clove any less. If you know an enemy is low health, you’re able to use the combination of Clove’s decay and Skye’s Trailblazer to defeat them instantly.
She also has the pop flash aspect when you use her bird through Clove’s smokes. Moreover, if you’ve smoked in a long hallway, you can use Trailblazer to locate enemies on the other side and spray them through the smoke.
Owl Drone
Lets you check an area without risk,revealing an enemy’s aura twiceif you successfully mark it with the drone.
Shock Bolt
Causes an explosion on impact,dealing significant damageto anyone in its AoE.
Sova’s Shock Bolt can already be quite hard to deal with if you’re up against a good player since you’renot sure how many times they’ll bounce. However, it becomes much more uncounterable when combined with Clove’s decay since it can defeat you instantly even if you’re in full health.
Moreover, Sova’s Owl Drone can be flown at any altitude, allowing you to scout out an area from above Clove’s smoke, which enemies usually don’t expect.
Fakeout
Creates a clone that moves forward in the desired direction. If anyone shoots the clone, itblinds in a clone-shaped areain the direction it got shot from.
Blindside
Throws ablinding projectile that bounces oncebefore exploding.
Yoru is already high up in the ranks when you think about the most fun characters in Valorant, but he becomes even better when placed alongside Clove. Whenever you smoke off some enemies, the first thing they’ll expect from you is pushing through the smoke to try and pick one or two of them off.
You can use that against them by letting Yoru’s clone go through first and then pushing ahead once it blinds an enemy. Of course, this synergy gets more value if the enemies are more paranoid, but you can still use pop flashes against expecting enemies.
Trapwire
Creates a tripwire at the designated location and reveals any enemy that comes in contact with it,concussing them after a couple of secondsif not broken.
Spycam
Lets you place a camera that can be used to scout an area andtag any enemy you see.
If you’re up against a group of enemies that aren’t afraid to push through the smoke, there’s no better synergy for Clove than Cypher himself. As a Sentinel, he’s great at holding down the site with his trips and preventing any aggressive pushes, and this ability becomes even better when combined with Clove’s smokes.
you may place his trips right inside their smoke, and enemies likely won’t expect it while pushing through. This leads to a high chance of them getting caught in the trip and giving you a free kill. You can also place your camera inside the smoke for unsuspecting enemies.
