Summary

Just like with the mainline games, inPokemon Sleepthe object of the game is to catch Pokemon, along with trying to get good, healthy sleep, of course. Once you do, you’re able to review their information like what berries they gather, what their Main Skill is, and what nature they have.

You’ll also be able to see which Sub Skills each Pokemon has and how powerful or “rare” they are. Every Pokemon has five Sub Skills and how rare each of them are is random. But what’s not random is that some of these skills are inherently more beneficial than others.

Some of these Sub Skills have S (common), M (rare), and L (very rare) variants. This list focuses on the highest rarity as, of course, the less rare skills won’t be as helpful.

11Research EXP Bonus

Every time after you sleep or nap, you’ll gain two types of EXP: your Research EXP and your Sleep EXP. Your Research EXP, as you can guess, increases your Researcher level.

When your level increases you gain awards, usually biscuitsand two other items. It really doesn’t go any further than that. When you’re first starting out, this can be helpful to get some items in your bag that assist in befriending Pokemon, but after you’ve logged quite a few sessions, your Research Level doesn’t impact the game highly.

10Energy Recovery M

You can guess what this does. Whichever Pokemon knows this Sub Skill will recover even more energy after they sleep. But that’s the thing, just this one Pokemon will gain some energy back.

This Sub Skill also loses some of its strength because one of the updates released after the game launched allowed for the Pokemon on your team to gain energy if they eat a meal you’ve made for Snorlax. Though overall this change is a positive for the gamers and sleepers that use this app.

9Sleep EXP Bonus

Your Sleep EXP Bonus isn’t just yours; this affects your entire team of Pokemon by helping them level up after sleep sessions. Just like how your Pokemon grow stronger after winning battles in other games, in Pokemon Sleep, they gain experience after sleeping and napping.

Those who were on your team when you hit the snooze button will all gain the same amount of Sleep EXP. This bonus can not only help that happen faster, but it can stack, so if you have multiple Pokemon on your team that know this Sub Skill, you can help them all gain levels faster.

8Energy Recovery Bonus

Unlike Energy Recovery M, this Sub Skill helps every Pokemon on your team. More specifically, this skill multiples the energy the team recovers after a sleep session by 1.12 percent.

Starting the day with your full amount of energy is good for any person, and it’s good for your Pokemon too. With a high or full amount of energy, they gather resources like berries and ingredients faster.

7Helping Speed M

Did someone say gathering berries and ingredients faster? This Sub Skill helps with just that. Instead of just relying on your Pokemon having higher energy throughout the day, if your Pokemon has a Helping Speed Sub Skill, they’ll already have additional speed in helping you and Snorlax out.

This applies to both berries and ingredients. So if you’re worried about feeding Snorlax enough of their favorite berries or filling your bag with the fruits, vegetables, herbs, and, more gruesomely, Slowpoke tails, you can put your mind at ease with this Sub Skill on your team.

6Inventory Up L

Another aptly named Sub Skill, any of your Pokemon that have this up their sleeve will be able to hold onto more berries and ingredients at a time. This is especially helpful if you’re unable to check in with your team multiple times between meals.

If your Pokemon are able to gather and hold onto more ingredients, that means you’ll be able to make stronger dishes to feed Snorlax. Plus, just fill the box with an even greater number of the different berry varieties, and a higher number makes the brain happier.

5Ingredient Finder M

This Sub Skill is a lot more versatile than it sounds, as some ingredients are much harder to come by, like Slowpoke tails. So, having this Sub Skill on any member of the Slowpoke family would give you access to these valuable and rare, uh, meat products.

But that’s not all. If you have this on a Pokemon that has trouble finding ingredients, it levels the playing field, so to speak, by giving them a better chance. And, of course, if your Pokemon already gathers a lot of ingredients, this can guarantee thatyou’ll be able to cook bigger and better meals for Snorlax.

If you find that you always have more ingredients than you can hold, you can increase your Ingredient Bag size by paying 120 Diamonds. You can also increase the size of your cooking pot by spending Dream Shards.

4Berry Finding S

Some Pokemon have a natural focus on using their Main Skill, so ingredients and berry finding take a hit for them. With this Sub Skill, you ensure that even if a particular Pokemon is more inclined to use a skill, they’ll still be contributing to Snorlax’s berry box.

This can help increase Snorlax’s overall strength because of the berries he eats. But it can also encourage you to keep a Pokemon on your team that has a really strong Main Skill because you’ll know that this Sub Skill will pick up the slack.

3Skill Level Up M

This is an amazing Sub Skill to get, no matter what level your Pokemon gets it at. As the name suggests, this will elevate your Pokemon’s Main Skill. Skill Level Up S will increase the power by one, but the rare version, Skill Level Up M, increases it by two.

This can drastically bolster Snorlax if your Pokemon has a Main Skill like Charge Strength. If your Pokemon started out gathering six random ingredients, they can suddenly be picking up 11 at a time.

2Skill Trigger M

Have you ever gone through a day and only had your Pokemon use their Main Skill once, maybe even not at all? Skill Trigger M increases the odds that your Pokemon will use whatever their Arcesus-given gift is.

Because this is a Sub Skill, there’s a chance that this can be paired with Skill Level Up or that,as you evolve your Pokemon, their Main Skill will increase in power naturally. That means multiple chances at their powerful Main Skills going off and gifting you or Snorlax with the results.
