InPersona 3 Reload, there are over 173 different Personas (plus some from DLC) that you can summon to face off the Shadows in Tartarus. They are formidable spirits that manifest from your character’s Arcana and can have all manners of abilities and traits. Personas come in various designs and are based on figures from mythology, such as Orpheus and Loki.
Each Persona represents one of the 22 Arcanas available in the game. As you level up these Arcanas with social links, you can unlock additional Personas or obtain them through super fusions. Most of the Personas you will find are also rewards after clearing a battle through randomized rewards that you can choose from.
10Seiryu
An ancient and powerful Dragon of Chinese myth. The Azure Dragon is a divine beast that represents one of the four Divine directions, protecting the Eastern realms. He is a formidable dragon with dominion over the elements of storms.
Seiryu is a formidable ice elemental Persona and is a magic menace in battle. By the time you level up this Persona to level 43, Seiryu has several devastating ice attacks, can heal allies, and can cripple enemy attacks while increasing your defense.
9Odin
The God King of Asgard, Odin is also a formidable wizard, hence his slim design, and the wielder of the Spear, Gungnir. With this weapon, he was known to pierce any foe without fear of missing his mark and smite them with his elemental magic.
As the ultimate Persona of the Emperor Arcana, Odin is highly leveled in electric attacks, spells, and all sorts of magic. Odin is perfect for enemies that are weak to electricity and pairs well with his son Thor.
8Quetzalcoatl
The winged serpent God of the Sun and the chief Diety of the Aztec Pantheon. Quetzalcoatl is a formidable Persona that is specialized in ice and wind magic attacks.
One of Quetzalcoatl’s innate abilities once you unlock it is Growth 3, which allows the Persona to gain 100 percent of exp from successful battles even when it wasn’t active in the battle. This means that by keeping him around your party, even if you don’t utilize his abilities, you’re able to still boost his level, which can help you get better abilities down the line.
7Thor
Thor is the God of Thunder, son of Odin, and the chief hero of Norse myth. He is a powerhouse that can bring the hammer down on any enemy with a thunderous display. Thor is unlocked as the ultimate Persona of the Chariot Arcana after you complete Kazushi’s Social Link quests.
As a Persona, Thor has several hard-hitting electric attacks that can heavily one or every target in the vicinity. Aside from just elemental strikes, Mjonir can heavily strike down enemies in battle. Thor is a strong Persona to have in the party and is the best to keep around when facing multiple tough enemies at once.
6Susano-0
The storm God of the Japanese Shinto pantheon, Susano-0 is known for the ancient stories of redeeming his place in heaven by slaying the eight-headed Yamata-no-Orochi. Susano-0 is a special Persona that requires the fusion of multiple Personas. This makes Susano-0 one of the harder ones to obtain alone.
His abilities revolve around causing increased amounts of physical damage. From charge which increases damage for the next attack to the vorpal strike that can bring critical heavy damage with the right conditions. After leveling up to 84, Susano-0 can reflect light attacks and trigger counter-attacks.
5Siegfried
Siegfried is the ancient spelling of Sigurd, a hero from Germanic myth known for slaying the dragon Fafnir. He is a physical powerhouse with several sword-based abilities built for the Strength Arcana builds. His strength translates well as part of his moveset and the Arcana he represents.
By level 61, Siegfried will have several new slash attacks and a critical chance amplifier that makes him one of the better sword-wielding Personas for more specialized builds. Siegfried also has a charge skill that lets him increase damage for the next hit, adding to the already strong arsenal of skills to use.
4Samael
A serpentine beast based on the angel of Death in ancient myth. Samael takes many forms and has gone by many titles like the seducer or destroyer and has been considered evil or good depending on the stories he’s appeared in.
As a Persona, Samael specializes indeteriorating enemy healththroughout a period of time with several ailments. After leveling up to 43 and 46, you will have access to several spells that can deliver a chance to instant kill tougher shadows along with committing poisonous attacks to groups of enemies.
3Seth
Also spelled as Set, one of the chief deities of Egyptian myth. Seth is a black dragon of formidable power, and bears abilities that represent its place in the myths, as an ancient God of chaos, storms, and the desolation of deserts. He also has a balanced array of wind and fire magic to combat multiple enemies.
Seth’s elemental magic includes fire and wind, along with forming barriers around allies to protect them from magical and physical attacks. He is a formidable all-around magic-using Persona that can handle two different types of enemies and is lethal against randomized matchups.
2Thanatos
The son of Nyx, and the grim reaper of the Greek Underworld, Thanatos is the harbinger of death and the ultimate Persona of the Death Arcana. Once you max out your Social Link with Pharos, the mysterious young boy you encounter at the beginning of the game that helps you get started as amember of S.E.E.S, you can commit to a special fusion using six other Death Arcana Personas.
Thanatos is the ultimate of the Death Personas, and due to his skills and abilities being accessible by the climatic moments of the game, unlocking him and utilizing his best skills helps ensure victory against Nyx in the endgame. Several of his better abilities include unleashing dark attacks, restoring all health upon death, and inflicting almighty damage with Megidolaon.
1Messiah
The manifestation of your true self. Messiah represents your character’s role in helping to stop Nyx and prevent the end of the world with a heavy price. After completing the Fool Social Link, which progresses the story until the end, then you’ll need to fuse Orpheus, your first Persona, with Thanatos, one of the later Personas you’re able to unlock.
Messiah is loaded with all kinds of special skills and abilities, From restoring the party’s health to invigorating Sp. If Thanatos is at his best with attack magic and damaging skills, Messiah is the perfect support Persona that delivers support for the team and ensures that the final push in the last segments of the game is manageable.
