Granblue Fantasy: Relinktakes you into a fantastical world of sky-faring folk where you are a plucky captain seeking out the island of Estalucia. Naturally, things go awry and your adventure finds you fighting massive beasts with a selection of potential party members that can grow to the size of a small community.

Although the vanilla version of the game already offers great world-building and a gameplay loop that begs you to grind and binge, you may find yourself wanting a little more out of your playthrough. Thankfully, there is an active modding community ready with the tools you need to make your perfect fantasy.

If you’re playing with an ultrawide monitor or on your Steam Deck, this mod is a must-have. Once applied, it allows you to change your resolution as you please with the HUD and FOV adjusting accordingly. In order to scale the game without sacrificing visual fidelity, this also tweaks shadows, LOD distance, and disables TAA.

Steam Deck users may also want to use this mod to increase fps while forcing a 16:10 aspect ratio. Asnoted by Reddit user ojgnay, getting constant 60 fps is possible by forcing FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR).

If you’re playing on Steam Deck or a Linux desktop, the mod creator requires you to add the commandWINEDLLOVERRIDES=“winmm=n,b” %command%to your game properties.

Special K

Not everyone loves a HUD in the face. If you feel like certain elements are distracting or too cluttered, you’ll want to get the HUD Customizations mod. It’s a Special K injection mod, which means you’ll need to install that program and use it to launch your game.

The great thing about this mod is that it doesn’t limit you to go all or nothing. You can control the visibility of various elements, namely damage, objective markers, health bars, and icons.

If you are using Special K with Reloaded II, then you will need to click Deploy ASI Loader in Reloaded II before launching the game. you’re able to find this under the Edit Application tab in the Advanced Tools & Options section.

Reloaded II

Whether you’re still in the main story or grinding quests with some friends online, sigils are essential for your journey. Consider sigils the bread and butter of an intrepid captain wanting to level up. Every sigil you collect will have its purpose detailed in a description box, but you’ll quickly notice that a lot of these are pretty barebones.

This mod demystifies the vague sigils by giving more detailed descriptions. This way, you know exactly what you’re getting before you apply them.

Captain, Lyria, Rackam, and Vyrn going through the sky on the Grandcypher

Do you like knowing exactly how much damage you are dealing when facing major bosses? This parser mod was built to give you that knowledge with ease. It’s an especially helpful tool when you’re in the endgame and trying to maximize output for the grind.

Of course, this parser only applies to your player, turrets, and any AI companions. So if you’re playing with online party members, you’re not going to get their details. There are tons ofgreat party members for solo play, though, so you may still find use for this mod if you’re not going multiplayer.

For Those Sweet Performance Boosts

GetDisable TAA, Bloom, Motion Blur, DOF, Etc. by happihora on Nexus

It seems like every huge game released these days comes loaded with bloom, motion blur, and TAA. While this serves certain titles well, many people don’t like the look of this, and it can often affect performance. This mod gives you the option to disable all of those features. You can control the game’s vibrancy, get more contrast, and disable any potential factors that may hinder you when farming.

Additionally, the mod has an optional Potato Mode that could help your game’s performance if your hardware is struggling to keep up with the game. you’re able to pick and choose how many graphical elements to disable, so you can tweak the game for the best visuals and functionality.

The author also recommends merging mods using the GBFR Data Tool by Nenkai. That said, this may not always be necessary depending on whether you are using a mod manager like Reloaded II.

For the player who loves a new playthrough, having to go through tutorials and long intro sequences meant to ease newbies in can be cumbersome. This mod lets you skip all of that and drops you right into the first town. It can also give you a fresh save if you get bugged out and lose your original save.

It should be noted that this is more a collection of saves you can use than any utility that modifies your game. Make sure you get the recommended Hex editor so you can apply whichever save file you like into the game. The mod author has also added other save points with varied treasures, MSP points, and more (although anything more than the fresh save essentially counts as a cheat code).

Reloaded II, GBFR Mod Manager/Loader Utility

Mod author Skittles states that they created this mod with the goal of minimizing RNG failure when it comes to sigils. They’ve also noted how farming for curio boxes tends to result in just a ton of AFK time for players. Once you get to a certain point in the game, you’ll find that all these claims can ring true.

Thankfully, this mod just lets you get those Curio-exclusive sigils from Sierokarte by trading in silver centrum. You should note that installing this mod will remove some Tier 3 defense sigils from the base game.

If you don’t mind the few moments it takes for the game to get through boot logos and the intro when you launch, then this isn’t a necessity. That said, you may reach a point where you’re just loading up thinking, “Who honestly has time for all this?”

Whether you are a busy gamer with kids to feed or you just don’t have the patience, this simple mod is a nice improvement that just makes the experience a little smoother.

When speaking to characters or watching conversations in cut scenes, you will notice huge dialogue banners taking up a fourth of the screen. While these aren’t any real hindrance to your gameplay, it can be pretty distracting.

Or maybe you just think it’s a sight for sore eyes. Either way, this mod just leaves the dialogue text with a clear overlay so you can get a full view of any cutscenes.

GetMute Sierokarte And Parrot by Dr. Goodhog on Nexus Mods

Sierokarte and her parrot Gotle are meant to be the adorable and lovable traders that make the endless grind more bearable as you level up your gear. Sadly, many players find that the opposite is true. After all, you may only hear a parrot shout “Sugoi” and “unbelievable” so many times before your ears bleed.

This may not be so bothersome at first, but you might see the beauty of this mod when you unlock transmuting in the game. The game forces you to do this one at a time, so do yourself a favor and bask in the comfortable silence.
