Summary
Kiryu returns as a protagonist inLike A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, ready to wrap up his unfinished business. After years of commanding the spotlight as the head honcho in the series, Kiryu is poised to pass the torch fully to Kasuga. However, Kiryu is more than just a washed-up legend – he has plenty of fight left in him.
Kiryu’s jobs in Infinite Wealth are varied and extraordinary – much like his adventures from Yakuza 0 until now. The Dragon of Dojima job is Kiryu’sstarting job, and one of the best in the game, but does this Dragon have a secret calling?

Four
Let’s make one thing absolutely clear when it comes to selecting the best job for Kiryu in Infinite Wealth:our protagonist is a no-nonsense brawlerwho talks with his fists. Magic is not Kiryu’s forte – Attack, HP, and Defense are much more preferable to this Yakuza legend.
As such, the Host job is nearly useless to Kiryu, given that it focuses entirely on Magic and MP, casting aside just about every other attribute Kiryu would like in his ideal job. Host is a fantastic choice for characters like Nanba and Tomizawa, but Kiryu won’t get much out of it.
Pyrodancer is an excellent job, but perhaps one of the least interesting choices for Kiryu, aside from its maximized Attack. However, using Pyrodancer solely for its Attack benefits is a bit of a waste, as the Magic Skills are some of the better ones in the game.
That being said, Soul Predation (deals damage, steals HP) and War Cry (boosts Attack) are two Skills that Kiryu might be able toput to good use through Skill Inheritance. As a job, Pyrodancer isn’t worth Kiryu’s full-time attention.
Three
Aquanaut is more useable than you might think on Kiryu, and can be chosen very early on in your adventure as his alternate job. If you want to beef up Kiryu’s survivability, you can inherithealing Skills like Beachside Bro-ffetthat can help keep Kiryu and the party healthy.
Aquanaut gives access to some blunt-based Ice Skills for Kiryu to hit with, and Essence of Dolphin Dive might even lower a foe’s Ice resistance. If you want to switch things up, Aquanaut can be a fun job for Kiryu, but isn’t his best.
Any jobs that lean into MP-based Skills don’t suit Kiryu’s main desire to use basic attacks for damage.
Two
Desperado and Aquanaut are somewhat similar options for Kiryu, but the wild-west gunslinger is a better job for Kiryu based on its higher base Attack damage. Much like Aquanaut, Desperadogives Kiryu access to healing via Campfire Cook.
On the offensive side, there are a few ways to apply status ailments like silence to your enemies with physical Skills, so they won’t go to complete waste. Kiryu’s disruptive qualities are on display with this job, and he can even assist with enemies weak to Blade or Gun damage.
Action Star is one of Kiryu’s best jobs on paper due to its high HP and Attack that combine well with a wealth of Blunt-based Skills. However, many of the Skills don’t have useful secondary effects, so you’ll heavily rely on a select few.
The Essence of Endless Kung Fu isa solid Skill that may instantly KO your enemies, but otherwise, most of the Skills are lacking for Action Stars. The base attributes may suit your needs decently, but Action Star is outperformed by a similar, but superior DLC job.
Five
Linebacker, the DLC job in Infinite Wealth, is a good job for Kiryu as it relies almost entirely on physical Skills and even boastshigh HP, Agility, and Defensethat Kiryu will appreciate, especially as the party leader. Kiryu must survive as party leader to avoid a game over, so he will be very safe with plenty of football padding.
The Essence of Showboating is a great Blunt-based Essence Skill that will boost the Defense of your entire team. The high Agility allows Kiryu to attack often, raising his team’s attributes and drawing the enemies' attention away from frail allies.
Samurai is a fantastic offensive job for Kiryu that will hone in on his sharp skills with a blade. You can buff Kiryu’s Attack and critical hit rate with Glory Awaits, then use basic attacks to demolish your foes, or pepper in Skills like Pine, Bamboo, Plum to inflict bleed.
With a solid array of Blade and Gun Skills to go along with elemental damage and superb basic attacks, Samurai belongs near the top of the list forpure-damage party compositions. While Samurai is not the most well-rounded job for Kiryu, it can provide a notable offensive boost.
Chef has a bit more focus on Magic than Kiryu would normally prefer, but the wealth of buffs available on this job is appreciated. While fellow protagonistKasuga’s jobs might be more suited to support, Kiryu can step in and help out by applying status conditions to enemies.
Kiryu still has access to many physical Skills for his MP use, and he can take advantage of the high base Attack attribute. The Chef job makes Kiryu a reliable enabler without forcing him to stay away from battle himself. The only downside is below-average Defense.
Breaker is one of the best jobs for Kiryu in Infinite Wealth, primarily due to the plethora of buffing options available to you and your team. Kiryu’s ideal role as atank and attacker can be fulfilled as a Breakerwith a few turns of setup that can prepare your team for any challenge.
Spin Sweeper will boost your Attack while Windmill will help to increase your Agility, ensuring your turns come in rapid succession. A high Agility is essential to attacking often, which this class will allow Kiryu to do while also giving access to buffing capabilities.
The Dragon of Dojima is the best job for Kiryu in Infinite Wealth, both due to how fitting it is for Kiryu in name and more importantly, in function. This job touts an ideal attribute spread for Kiryu, and allows him to focus on the unique stance changes between Beast, Brawler, and Rush Styles.
Brawleris balanced and good for a variety of scenarios.
Rushis best suited to attacking multiple enemies with lower HP.
If talking with your fists isn’t enough, unleash an Essence of the Dragon God to strike fear into your foes' hearts and clear the battlefield.
