Create-A-Sim has never been as intuitive as it is inThe Sims 4. Long gone are the days when sliders were the only way to adjust your Sim’s facial features and body. Now, with a simple grab-and-pull system, you can make startlingly accurate Sims in no time at all.
However, like everything else, no system is perfect. There are plenty of improvements to be made in CAS in The Sims 4. Luckily, that’s where the modding community has come in. No matter how you want to improve your Sim-creating experience, there’s a mod for that to make CAS even more enjoyable than it already is.
8More Columns In CAS
One of the most popular mods in the long history of The Sims 4, theMore Columns in CAS mod adds up to three extra columnsin Create-A-Sim so you can scroll through options more easily. You can choose between three columns, four columns, or five columns in total to have.
This mod isa necessityif you have tons of custom contentin your game; if you’ve stocked up on custom clothing, hair, skin details, makeup, and more, it can be a nightmare scrolling through the endless amount of stuff you’ve downloaded. The More Columns in CAS mod makes it much more manageable.
Like many mods in this list, theMore Columns in CAS mod needs to be updated frequently. When The Sims team releases a patch for the game, make sure to check the website listed for an update, and replace the old files. This ensures the mod still functions with the latest version of the game.
7More Traits In CAS
While The Sims 4 includes tons of upgrades to CAS from previous entries, there’s one thing it doesn’t improve, and that’s the limited amount of traits. With the More Traits in CAS mod,you can now have five full traits for all your Simsinstead of just three.
The Sims 3 allowed gamers to pick five traits for each of their Sims, so it doesn’t make much sense why in The Sims 4 you’re able to only have three. This mod solves that issue andallows you to make much more dynamic and detailed Simswhen it comes to their personality.
6Stand Still In CAS
Another useful mod from creator MizoreYukii,Stand Still in CAS provides a solution to an issue that causes a lot of frustration. Nearly every time you change clothes, hair, or other details about your Sim, they move around and pose.
These idle animationsmake it hard to get a good look at the changesyou just made but, with Stand Still in CAS,your Sims will now remain completely stillwhile changing their features. You won’t have to get annoyed that your Sim keeps moving their face, and you can’t see what lipstick you just put on them.
5EA Eyelashes Remover
The unsightly chunky EA lashes are now a thing of the past because this mod by well-known creator Kijikoremoves all the black solid eyelashes that come in the gamefrom every eye preset. Your Sims will no longer look like they’ve put on way too much mascara.
This mod works great with 3D eyelashes, a popular custom content addition in the game, but if you attempt to put custom lashes over the chunky EA ones, they won’t look quite right. That’s why this mod is a must-have if you’ve got any of Kijiko’s custom 3D lashes, or any other custom eyelashes for Sims.
4Mouth Scale Slider
While the sliders in Sims 4 are pretty generous, there are still some limitations. The Mouth Scale Slider removes one of them,allowing you to make your Sims' mouth much bigger or much smaller.
There are a plethora of great sliders available for your Sims, but this one should be among the first you get. This slider cancompletely change the look of your Simsand allows for much more in-depth creation than you’re allowed without the mod; if you’re having trouble making accurate Sims due to the game’s limitations, this slider is for you.
3CAS Lighting
There’s tons of dynamic lighting you’ll come across while exploring the different worlds in The Sims 4, andwhen it comes to CAS, you’re going to be stuck with one static light.That’s not the case with the CAS Lighting mod, whichallows you to change the light source while creating your Sim.
This mod gives you a much more accurate representation of your Sim sinceyou won’t always be seeing them in the harsh light provided in CAS.You’re able to choose any of the lights available from SimplyAnjuta and enjoy seeing your Sims much more beautifully lit.
You’re only able tochoose one of the CAS Lightingsto have in your game at once. If you want to switch the light, remove the package file from your Mods folder and replace it with one of the others.
2Height Slider
Another one of the most popular CAS mods you can get in Sims 4,the Height Slider lets you do what has never been achievable before.You can adjust your Sim’s height with this mod, andmake them taller or shorter.
The Sims has never had a reliable way to choose your Sims' height;while there was a cheat to stretch a Sim’s skeleton in The Sims 2, it more often than not made abominations.But, luumia has put in the hard work, so you can make your Sims as short and stout, or big and tall as you’d like.
While the Height Slider is great, it does come with a downside.Some animations may be glitchedand look strange if your Sim is significantly taller or shorter than the default. This will also mean hugs or kisses will look a little off, too.
1Expanded Eye Scale Slider
Just like the previously mentioned Mouth Scale Slider,the Expanded Eye Scale Slider expands the limit for your Sims' eye size. You can make your Sims' eyes much larger or smaller than you could before, allowing for more variety in faces.
This mod is also greatif you like making Sims that look more cartoonishor want to make accurate aliens. This slider allows for a great range of creativity, yetit still fits in with the rest of The Sims 4 if you don’t want to push the boundaries of the basic Sims style too much.
There are plenty more great CAS mods you can find for The Sims 4 if you’re looking for an overall better experience. Some players spend the entire game in Create-A-Sim, soit’s only fitting that they have as much freedom as they’d like.
