A Thousand Floating Dreams is Nahida’s signature weapon, but it can still be useful even if you don’t have Nahida. While this weapon is built for her, it will still be powerful on other characters if you don’t have their signature weapon, you want to give them a 5-star weapon, or you want to do something a little off the beaten trail.
What Does A Thousand Floating Dreams Do?
A Thousand Floating Dreamsis a 5-star weapon with a 44 base attack thatincreases the Elemental Mastery of characters of the same elemental type as the wearer by 32.Characters who don’t have the same elemental typehave their elemental damage increased by ten percent.
Each of these effects can stack up to three times. This weapon also gives the wearer another58 Elemental Mastery.

A Thousand Floating Dreams is good for sub-DPS characters on mono-type teams, teams that heavily rely on elemental reactions or teams where there is at least one more character of the same element as the wearer. If the character with this weapon is the only character of their element on the team, the main DPS should be a character who focuses a lot on triggering elemental reactions, especially Bow or Catalyst characters.
How To Obtain A Thousand Floating Dreams
A Thousand Floating Dreams can be obtainedby pulling for it when it is featured on the weapon banner. It is Nahida’s signature weapon, soit’s usually available when Nahida is on the character banner.
To increase your chances of receiving A Thousand Floating Dreams, make sure you select it as your Epitomized Path weapon. This will make sure that you have a guaranteed chance to pull it after you pull two 5-star weapons that aren’t your selected weapons in a row.

Nahida
A Thousand Floating Dreams is Nahida’s signature weapon, so it is bothher best weapon and the best character for this weapon. The weapon’s Elemental Mastery bonuses are fantastic for Dendro teams because, as a Dendro Catalyst character,Nahida is extremely good at applying Dendro to enemies and triggering Dendro-related reactionslike Bloom, Burn, and Quicken.
When her allies aren’t Dendro characters, not only will her weapon give them additional Elemental Damage, but by using her skill Illusionary Heart, she will create the Shrine of Maya, which will grant allies of specific elements certain effects:

If you aren’t runningNahidaon a primarily Dendro team, this effect makes her extremely valuablefor team compositions that rely a lot on Dendro and Dendro reactions.
Furthermore, one of Nahida’s Passive Talents grants the party member with the highest Elemental Mastery a 25 percent bonus, somake sure that herteammates have high Elemental Mastery. Her otherPassive Talent also grants her more Crit Rate and bonus damagedepending on how much Elemental Mastery she has above 200.

Yae Miko
As a sub-DPS and an off-field DPS, A Thousand Floating Dreams is great onYae Mikowhether she has other Electro team members or not. Because she is anoff-field DPS, this weapon’s Elemental Mastery boostis extremely valuable.
One of her abilities allows her to set upSesshou Sakura, statues that release Electro damage over time. Her passive boosts this ability, granting her anadditional 0.15 percent damage per point of Elemental Masteryshe possesses, which means Elemental Mastery is extremely valuable on all fronts of her playstyle.

If her party members are characters of other elements, Yae Miko is great forcausing reactions by setting up Sesshou Sakuraand leaving it to her other party members to do their elemental damage.
In a party with other Electro units,it may be best to have at least one other off-field DPS(like Yaoyao, Xianling, or Xinqiu) so that her Sesshou Sakura can trigger elemental reactions while the main DPS or the other Electro units are doing their thing. When you have two off-field DPS units triggering their off-field skills at once, they are already doing a lot of the elemental reactions work automatically.

Shield characters like Kirara and Layla alsodo off-field elemental damage thanks to their shields, making them another good viable option. If you are teaming Yae Miko up with another Electro character, make sure that character can benefit a lot from the Elemental Mastery buffs.
Ningguang
WhileNingguangis a bit more of a main DPS character,A Thousand Floating Dreams can still be a good choice for her.The main reason for this is that Geo characters tend to work well together, meaning that A Thousand Floating Dreamswill grant fellow Geo teammates 32 more Elemental Mastery on top of their natural synergy.
Some great Geo characters to pair with Ningguang are:
Because she is a Catalyst user, Elemental Mastery is already quite important for her constant Geo application, which allows her to create shields more often. Even if she is not on a mono-Geo team or if she is not being used as a Main DPS, A Thousand Floating Dreams still provides her allies with the very usefulElemental Damage bonus.
Sucrose
Anemo is fantastic at triggering Elemental Reactions, soSucroseis a great choice mostly because of A Thousand Floating Dreams’ elemental damage bonus. This weapon is ideal for aSucrose who is a member of a team that applies a lot of different elements at once, giving them their bonuses and allowing Sucrose to tie them all together.
Furthermore, her attackForbidden Creation—Isomer 75/Type II increases all team members’ Elemental Mastery by 20 percent. With a Thousand Floating Dreams, Sucrose can be a powerhouse in increasing her team’s overall elemental damage.
If Sucrose isn’t the only Anemo character on the team, she still comes in handy, especially if thatother Anemo character is the team’s main DPS.Every time she causes a Swirl reaction, one of Sucrose’s passives increases the other Anemo characters’ Elemental Mastery by 50for eight seconds.
