Yu-Gi-Oh!TCG’s Phantom Nightmare adds over 100 cards to the already massive card game. In these packs, you will find support and retrains for some of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX archetypes like Yubel, as well as exclusive archetypes known as the Ashen, Dark Pyro-type monsters inspired by theDark Soulsseries.

Phantom Nightmare is a powerful set and continues the trend of giving fire decks state-of-the-art support. Of course, there are always going to be cards that stand out as the cream of the crop. These are the ten best cards you can pull in Phantom Nightmare.

Promethean Princess Card Art Yu-Gi-Oh!

10Promethean Princess Bestower of Flame

She Just Keeps Coming Back

Promethean Princess has everything you want in a boss monster. It brings monsters back from the grave, it destroys your opponent’s cards, and if it gets destroyed, it can easily come back to the field.

The only downside is that it restricts you to only summoning fire monsters while it’s on the field. Luckily, since the gimmick of the card is to die and come back, you can easily use it as material for higher rank monsters while also sidestepping the restrictions if timed correctly.

Veidos The Eruption Dragon of Extinction

9Veidos the Eruption Dragon

The Field Spell Destroyer

Veidos is the Boss monster in theDark Souls-inspired Ashen Archetype. It also acts as a hand trap that targets your opponent’s field spells. While this can interrupt your opponent’s setup, it can also be used during the second main phase after your opponent has made most of their plays for the turn.

you may special summon it to their side of the field, then search out a continuous trap you can immediately place down in your back row. When your turn starts, focus on getting Veidos in the grave, and all of your opponent’s cards will go with it.

Goblin Biker Big Gabonga Card Yu-Gi-Oh!

8Goblin Biker Big Gabonga

Use Your Opponent’s Cards

The Goblin Biker Archetype is all about sucking up your opponent’s monsters and using them as XYZ material. This is a great way to clear the board without setting off any effects that activate when certain cards are sent to the grave.

Goblin Biker Big Gabonga is a Rank 3 XYZ monster that searches for monsters to add to the hand as well as gives you an additional search from the deck to use as material. It is also a generic rank 3, making it easier to find material for its summon.

EM:P Meowmine Yu-Gi-Oh! Card

7EMP Meowmine

It’s A Free Monster

If you use a lot of link monsters in your Yu-Gi-Oh! strategy, then E:MP Meowmine is one of the best cards in this set. InYu-Gi-Oh! Cards are often ranked in powernot by their statistical attack and defense, but by their effects. E:MP Meowmine is one of these statistically weak cards with great effects.

With link monsters such as I:P Masquerena and S:P Little Knight being popular, E:MP Meowmine can easily fulfill its link 2 requirements. Banish E:MP Meowmine from your grave to bounce back your opponent’s monsters easily.

Snake-Eyes Poplar

6Snake Eyes Poplar

Snake-Eyes Poplar is a level 1 effect monster that can really help decks get going. It’s fairly easy to summon with its own effect and lets you extend by adding a Snake-Eyes spell or trap to your hand.

It also lets you place other fire monsters in your back row. This in turn allows other effects in the Snake-eyes Archetype to go live and many plays to become one-card combos. One-card combos are popular and any card that can help get you to even better endboards is a plus.

Spirit of Yubel Yu-Gi-Oh! Card

5Spirit of Yubel

Old Friend Reborn

Spirit of Yubel is a retrain of the original Yubel card. It has an updated effect, allowing it to go toe to toe with other monsters. If your opponent declares an attack you can special summon Spirit of Yubel from your hand. Once on the field, it can’t be destroyed by battle, and you don’t take damage if it gets attacked.

This can save your lifepoints in a pinch and unless your opponent has an effect that can get it off the field you’re able to force them to end the battle phase without getting the win.

Goblin Biker Grand Entrance Yu-Gi-Oh! Card

4Goblin Biker Grand Entrance

Make a Grand Entrance

Goblin Biker Grand Entrance is an excellent searcher for the Goblin Biker archetype. Activate it from your hand to search out a Goblin Biker then detach an XYZ material from either side of the field to special summon from the hand. This effect alone can leave your opponent’s XYZ monsters dead in the water with not enough materials to activate their effects.

You can also banish this card from the graveyard to do it again while also recycling your goblin monsters from the graveyard back to your hand.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Iron Thunder Card

3Iron Thunder

Clear The Field

Iron Thunder is a Normal Trap card that can be used to not only negate an effect but also destroy something on the field. Card placement is a mechanic that often doesn’t see much action with the most notable being Infinite Impermanence.

Iron Thunder blows up everything in the same collum when it is activated. This includes Monsters, Spells, or traps which isn’t bad when you want your opponent watching their step throughout the duel. Seeing as it is a normal trap it can easily find a place in many trap decks such as Labrynth or Dinomorphia.

Yubel - The Loving Defender Forever

2Yubel Loving Defender Forever

Super Polymerization Target

Yubel Loving Defender Forever is a fusion monsterwith a flexible requirement for its summon. Because the fusion requirements specify 1+ effect monsters on the field it becomes a fantastic monster to summon with Super Polymerization. Wording is a vital part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Card game and can make or break how you use a card.

Once summoned it becomes a difficult monster to get rid of while on the field. It can’t be destroyed by battle or card effects meaning you will have to find a way to send it back to the deck or send it to grave.

Priestess of the Ashened City

1Priestess of the Ashened City

Collect More Souls

Priestess of the Ashened City is a necessary component of the Ashened Archetype. These cards were introduced exclusively to the TCG and take inspiration from Dark Souls. While the archetype is still in its first wave, pulling Priestess of the Ashened City early is a great way to prepare for more updates.

It is one of the main searchers and normal summon of the archetype. Luckily, you can special summon her by having the Ashened Field Spell, Obsidian, The Ashened City on the field.
