Mockingbird is a scarily powerfulMarvel Snapdecks, since meeting her condition is one of the easiest things to do. She gets her cost reduced by one for each card in play that didn’t start in your deck, which means both tokens and location-summoned cards count towards that discount.
While making her cost zero is the dream, a cost reduction of just one or two energy is already worth it. What’s more, at nine power she’s outside the range of the dreaded Shang-Chi, making her not only a good play, but a safe one at that.

8Mobius M. Mobius
To Counter A Mockingbird
As Mockingbird rises in popularity,so too will Mobius M. Mobius, a card designed to counter cost reductions throughout the game. While Mobius isn’t directly helping your Mockingbird be reduced in cost, it does answer the inevitable swarm of Mockinbirds that will swarm the game.
Understanding that Mobius is a threat is important for any Mockingbird deck, so you shouldn’t wait for her to cost zero to play her. Any window of opportunity is a good one, since the moment your opponent plays Mobius, all the value of Mockingbird is out the window.

7Squirrel Girl
Using Cute Animals To Win
Any card that summons “tokens”, meaning summons of any kind, counts towards giving Mockingbird a discount. White Tiger, for example, can summon creatures that would reduce Mockingbird’s cost, but at turn five, she comes too late to be of any use.
Squirrel Girl is a good way to make Mockingbird cheap early, since her two squirrels will reduce Mockingbird’s cost by two, making her a mighty three cost and nine power card. While you need to be mindful of what available space you’ll have left, any way to bring Mockingbird out early is helpful.

6Thanos
Even More Uses For The Stones
As you may tell by the animationwhen a game with Thanos starts, he shuffles the Infinity Stones at the start of each match, meaning that they weren’t there initially when the game began. This means that each Stone reduces Mockingbird’s cost by one, and since there are six Stones, it is fairly easy to reduce her to zero.
The Time Stone was recently nerfed in preparation for Mockingbird’s release. It no longer gives one extra energy, but it permanently reduces the cost of the next card you draw.

This makes Mockingbird a perfect fit for a regular Thanos ramp deck, giving an additional use to all the stones beyond cheating cards early and cycling through all the cards. Mockingbird can even be eaten by Blob, giving use to her high power even when you fail to draw her.
5Killmonger
Destroy The Competition
Most Mockingbird lists will rely on Thanos to reduce the cost of the card, playing as many stones as they can to achieve victory. You can do the same while still countering their plays, all with the power of a single card: Killmonger.
Killmonger destroys all one-cost cards in play, no matter which side of the board they are on. If you yourself are playing Thanos, you can play Mockingbird early to discount her, then use Killmonger to avoid your opponent from benefiting off the same effect.

4Moon Girl
For The Greedy Players
If you’re the kind of player that wants to maximize the power output of each card, then you’re likely familiar with Moon Girl, and her ability to duplicate your hand. With a heavily discounted Mockingbird in hand, you’re able to double up on her power, possibly playing 18 power for zero energy.
There are a lot of ways to counter this, with the game itself giving unfavorable locations that make you lose it all. But this is why retreating is an option: you just have to wait to draw the perfect hand, and prepare yourself for gaining eight cubes out of a double Mockingbird play.

3Loki
Using Their Power Against Them
Loki is a double edged sword when it comes to Mockingbird, since you may get a lot of discounted cards that didn’t start in your deck (making Mockingbird very small in cost), but if she’s in your hand when you play Loki, said advantage is simply gone.
That said, it is a risk worth taking, something most Loki players already know; you simply need to look at Devil Dinosaur for evidence. Devil Dinosaur is a fantastic card in Loki decks, as long as you draw it after playing Loki; if those decks can already afford to run the Dino, then they are more than happy to run Mockingbird as well.

2Mister Sinister And Brood
Strategic Tokens
The strategy behind Mister Sinister and Brood is all about using what they summon to your advantage. It mostly revolves around Patriot and his ability to buff cards without abilities, turning those tokens into huge threats that are hard to deal with.
Other than playing Onslaught on top of Patriot, those decks don’t have much in the form of a final play, but Mockingbird can easily turn the tide in those scenarios. With only Mister Sinister and Brood, Mockingbird is already costing two, making her an easy fit into nearly any turn.
1Snowguard And Location Advantage
Luck Is On Your Side
Manipulating locations is Snowguard’s biggest strength, since her spirits can either deny or repeat a locations effect with their on reveal effects. And when it comes to Mockingbird, simply playing these two spirits can lower her cost, making the pairing a no-brainer.
But there are more favorable combinations between Snowguard and Mockingbird than simply playing the spirits. This is because there are plenty of locations that summon creatures, like monsters or ninjas, so making said locations summon those creatures again (thanks to the Bear Spirit’s ability) can easily lower Mockingbird’s cost without any additional cards involved.
