Summary
Did you know that Phoenix Wright once fought a dragon? True,Capcom’sfamous lawyer is known for defending his clients in court and putting murderers behind bars. But he, and many otherAce Attorneycharacters, have performed much more remarkable feats across several epic and bizarre crossovers.
The Ace Attorney series has been referenced and parodied dozens of times, providing many clever Easter Eggs for fans to find. Even better, however, is that Phoenix and his team have made cameos in many other universes, includingMonster HunterandMarvel vs. Capcom. You haven’t seen anything until you’ve witnessed Miles Edgeworth slaying monsters and Phoenix Wright traveling to Outer Space.

These crossovers and references are ranked in no particular order.
8Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3
The Time Phoenix Wright Beat Up Spider-Man
Often considereda must-play fighting game, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 adds Phoenix Wright to the roster. His moveset is one of the silliest, including throwing case files at opponents and yelling “Objection!” to stun enemies.
Miles Edgeworth makes a brief cameo in She-Hulk’s ending cutscene. The scenario depicts Wright and Edgeworth delivering closing arguments before Judge Jennifer Walters. This leads to a surprisingly wholesome moment where the two lawyers hug each other out of shock after She-Hulk accidentally destroys the judge’s bench.

7Henry Stickmin Collection
The Silliest Ace Attorney Parody
The Henry Stickmin games are no strangers to references and parodies. One of the coolest comes from the Escaping the Prison episode. If you choose to call a lawyer while Henry is in jail, the game will transition to an Ace Attorney-inspired courtroom section.
The gameplay is almost a one-to-one recreation of Phoenix Wright’s trials, requiring you to comb through a court record and present evidence to contradict the witness’s testimony. Also, if you look closely at Henry’s contact list, you’ll see the name “A. Justice.” This is a reference to the character Apollo Justice.

6Monster Hunter Explore
The Crossover Where Miles Edgeworth Fought A Dragon
It’s a shame that Monster Hunter Explore was exclusive to Japan and Canada because it contained the strangest Ace Attorney crossover ever. The action RPG hit mobile devices in 2015, featuring playable characters and weapons from the Phoenix Wright trilogy.
You can slay monsters as Phoenix, Maya Fey, Miles Edgeworth, and Franziska von Karma. Better yet, some of the armor includes a shield resembling an attorney’s badge and a lance shaped like Wright’s pointer finger. You can even hit enemies with the Blue Badger cardboard cutout.

5Professor Layton Vs. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney
Two Legendary Puzzle Solvers Unite
Arguably the most famous Ace Attorney crossover, Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright launched in 2014 and is now one of the rarest 3DS games. The plot follows the renowned puzzle-solver and the legendary lawyer as they’retransported to the medieval kingdom of Labyrinthiaand must participate in a series of witch trials.
While the story maintains the chapter structure of the Layton games, the gameplay is a mix of both series. You investigate like you would in the Professor’s adventures, solving brain-teasers and finding hint coins. Afterward, you head to court as Phoenix with the new ability to cross-examine multiple witnesses simultaneously.

4We Love Golf
Apollo Justice Quits His Job And Takes Up Golfing
Developed by Camelot and published by Capcom, We Love Golf launched for Wii in 2008 as a sort of spiritual successor to the Mario Golf series. Instead of featuring Nintendo characters, you can dress up Miis to resemble heroes from Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Ace Attorney.
There are only two Ace Attorney costumes: Apollo Justice and Pearl Fey. The Chords of Steel lawyer even does his iconic pointing pose if you get a birdie. As silly as it looks, the poor guy needs a way to relax aftersolving so many baffling mysteries.
3Puzzle Fighter
Solving Puzzles With Your Mind And Fists
Inspired by the arcade game Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, Puzzle Fighter mixes brain-teasers with fighting game combat. To attack your opponent, you must match a series of colorful gems in a row. In addition to characters from Mega Man and Resident Evil, you can play as Phoenix Wright.
The defense lawyer’s moveset and dialogue are almost identical to his appearance in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, with newly recorded voice acting to differentiate the two. He even maintains his iconic special attack, where he accuses his adversary of murder.
2Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
A Loving Homage To Ace Attorney Characters
Written by Shu Takumi, the mind behind the Phoenix Wright trilogy,Ghost Trickfollows a spirit named Sissel who must solve his murder before vanishing into the afterlife. This delightful hidden gem has the same quirkiness, humor, and thrilling pace as the Ace Attorney series.
As you might expect, there are a few references to Capcom’s famous lawyer games. Sissel’s sidekick, a Pomeranian named Missile, shares the same name as Detective Gumshoe’s dog. Also, the blue and green detectives are designed to pay homage to Phoenix Wright and Winston Payne, respectively.
1Project X Zone 2
Phoenix Meets Characters From Tekken, Yakuza, And More
Project X Zone 2 isone of the biggest crossover games ever, combining the universes of Capcom, Sega, and Bandai Namco. Launched for 3DS in 2016, the plot follows Phoenix and Maya as they’re tangled up in a multidimensional war with characters from Soulcalibur, Virtua Fighter, and more.
The various clashing personalities lead to many hilarious moments. These include Phoenix being hired to defend Heihachi from Tekken before being ambushed by Goro Majima from Yakuza. Even Edgeworth makes a cameo during a courtroom section.
