Summary

The Third Chapter ofDisney’s Lorcana, Into The Inklands, introduces the mechanic of Locations. But of course, like with any Chapter launch, it also brings with it a host of cards that can be used in the creation of a new, powerful deck or cards that can be added to your already tried and true one.

And speaking of power, the Amber cards of Chapter Three are no laughing matter as there are a host of options to choose from and characters that would make any Disney Villain shiver in their boots. So, don’t just explore the Inklands, but come explore some of the best Amber cards.

Joshua Sweet - The Doctor Lorcana Card

This list ranks Chapter Three Amber cards by their power and their utility.

10Joshua Sweet - The Doctor

This fine man is not on the list because of his beauty. Dr. Sweet costs four to play and is inkable, has a strength of one, and a willpower of five. He can also quest for two lore. But that aside, he has the Bodyguard ability.

For pretty early on in the game, Dr. Sweet can be a big roadblock for your opponents to get around as he can keep your other cards safe for a while, especially with his high willpower. Of course, there are options to get around Bodyguard, but it will still take resources from their hand or put a little bit of damage onto their characters.

pluto lorcana

9Pluto - Friendly Pooch

This cost one card may look weak if you’re only paying attention to the numbers. Zero strength and two willpower. However, it’s the Good Dog ability that makes this card shine.

Good Dog means that you can exert Pulto and allow yourself to pay one less ink for the next character you bring onto the field this turn. In the early game, this is a massive advantage as you can start to bring cost three characters onto the field in turn two, and so on down the line. This can tilt the game in your favor if you’re waiting to play a card but just don’t have the ink for it yet.

The Heart Of Atlantis Lorcana Card

8Heart Of Atlantis

Keeping with the theme of Pluto’s ability, this cost four Item allows you to exert it so that you can pay two less for the next character you play. Not only is this card powerful on its own, but it can be used with any other cost-reducing abilities or moves.

That and, being an item, it can be a little difficult for an opponent to get rid of it, unlike with character cards like Pluto. There are certainly items and characters that do banish items, but that relies on the luck of the draw or how many spots in their deck they’ve given up to defend from items like this one and others.

perdita devoted mother lorcana

7Perdita - Devoted Mother

Perdita is a cost six character that can’t be inked, she can quest for two lore, and although her strength is only one, her willpower is six. But different verse, same as the first, it’s the ability of this card that can make an impact.

Come Along, Children allows you to play a cost two or less character from your discard pile for free. And that’s not just when you bring Perdita to the field, that’s any time she quests. So, a character like Pluto - Friendly Pooch that your opponents may have been so keen to get rid of? Oh, guess what, they’re back. Perdita’s high willpower allows her to stay on the field longer if your opponent doesn’t realize the kind of threat she is and doesn’t focus on getting her out.

Pride Lands, Pride Rock

6Pride Lands

Locations have been introduced in Chapter Three of Lorcana, and Pride Lands is an excellent place to send your characters too. It costs two ink to play, and it costs two ink to move characters to the Pride Lands. It has a willpower of seven, but this card gives two willpower to any character you send there.

In addition to that, Pride Lands has a second ability, Lion Home. If you have either a Prince or a King make their home at this Location, it will cost you one less ink every time you play a character. There seems to be a trend here, huh?

The Bare Necessities Lorcana Card

5The Bare Necessities

The Bare Necessities is a Song card that costs two to play (or sing) and can be inked. But you most likely won’t want to ink it. When you use this card, a chosen opponent reveals their hand to you. You can then choose a non-character card of theirs and make them discard it.

That is massive in terms of card control. Were you worried about them usingthe Steel card Grab Your Swordto damage your characters? Nope, just throw that card away, thanks! The Bare Necessities can put a stop to so many plans that require Items, Actions, or Locations.

Kida - Protector Of Atlantis Lorcana Card

4Kida - Protector Of Atlantis

Atlantis fans are feasting this Chapter. Kida - Protector Of Atlantis costs five ink to play normally but can be shifted over another Kida card (or Morph) for three ink instead. She has a strength of three and a willpower of five.

Her ability can be quite a game-changer. Perhaps We Can Save Our Future activates when you play Kida and subtracts three strength from every character currently in play. This gives you a turn to quest with or exert your characters with little fear of them being banished through any kind of challenge.

Tiana’s Place Lorcana Card

Although Kida subtracts three strength from characters, it is only characters who arecurrentlyin play. This does allow for you to play someone after her that will keep their strength, but your opponent can also play a character. If it’s one with Rush, they can challenge your cards immediately without being affected by Kida’s ability.

3Tiana’s Place

Tiana’s Place costs three to play, and it costs two to move characters there. It has a willpower of eight and a lore value of one. All the numbers aside, the ability of this location makes it difficult to deal with.

Because of Night Out, characters can not be challenged while they are there. Read that again. For the cost of two ink to move your characters there, they then can only be damaged by means other than challenges, such as Action cards. This card will most likely find its way into a great number of decks.

Pluto - Determined Defender Lorcana Card

2Pluto - Determined Defender

Remember that cost one Pluto from earlier. This is another reason why it’s such a good card. Pluto - Determined Defender is a cost seven card that can be shifted for five ink if placed over another Pluto. Along with having a strength of three and a willpower of eight, it has a powerful ability.

This is a Bodyguard character, but it’s Guard Dog that makes this card a menace. At the start of each of your turns, you remove three damage from Pluto. So if an opponent doesn’t banish this character outright somehow, Pluto will keep removing damage and be a wall between their characters and yours.

Chernabog - Evildoer Lorcana Card

1Chernabog - Evildoer

This card really is evil. It costs ten ink to play Chernabog. But not really. Besides having nine strength and willpower, and three lore when questing, it has two ridiculously strong abilities.

The Power Of Evil allows you to pay one less ink to play Chernabog for every character of yours that has been banished. On top of that, when you play them, you’re able to then take all of those banished characters and shuffle them back into your deck. So. Yeah. Have fun going up against this card.
