Last Epoch’sendgame consists of multiple dungeons, an endless arena game type, and the Monolith of Fate system. While most players will spend their time in the Monolith of Fate to upgrade their gear, some of the strongest items in Last Epoch are found in dungeons.

The Temporal Sanctum dungeon allows players to craft their own Legendary gear, provided they can beat one of this game’s most difficult bosses. If you have a Unique with Legendary Potential and a spare Exalted item, you can create a devastating Legendary item that will surely be an upgrade for your build. But before you can start crafting Legendary gear, you’ll first need to clear the Temporal Sanctum.

Temporal Sanctum Location

The Temporal Sanctum dungeon is located nearThe Ruined Coast in the Ruined Era, found on the southwest corner of the map.If you haven’t unlocked this leveling path yet, you must head to The Shining Cove during the Imperial Era and look for a time portal near the eastern edge of the map. Enter the Rift, clear the area, and you’ll reach the Temporal Sanctum dungeon. Be sure to have a Temporal Sanctum Key ready to start the dungeon.

How To Get Temporal Sanctum Dungeon Keys

Temporal Sanctum Keys are a rare drop from slain monsters. They can also appear as an uncommon reward from Echoes in theMonolith of Fate endgame activity. You only need one key to access the dungeon, even if you’re playing with a group. Once you have a key, head to the Temporal Sanctum entrance and interact with the gate. Insert the key into the text prompt, and you can select a difficulty to start the dungeon.

Dungeon keys are one-time use. If you die at any point, you will need to restart the dungeon from the beginning and use a new key.

Last Epoch Temporal Sanctum Difficulty Select

Temporal Sanctum Dungeon Walkthrough

Before you start the Temporal Sanctum dungeon, you must first pick a difficulty. There arefour difficulty optionsto select, labeled in-game as Tiers. The higher the Tier, the more rewards you’ll receive. It also influences which items the Eternity Cache will accept at the end of the dungeon, as shown below:

Level 100

Higher difficulty tiers allow you to insert higher-level Uniques into the Eternity Cache, a device that allows you tocraft Legendary gear.Bear in mind thatyour Unique must have Legendary Potential and an accompanying Exalted itemto be forged as a Legendary. If you don’t have either item, you won’t be able to create a Legendary. Once you have a Unique that’s ready to become a Legendary, star the dungeon.

Dungeon Mechanic

Pressing the “D” key will transport your character to a different timeline, alternating between the Divine and Ruined Eras. You must alternate between both timelines to find a path through the dungeon.

The Divine Era is guarded by snake enemies that use elemental and poison attacks, while the Ruined Era is filled with Void enemies.

Last Epoch Temporal Sanctum Dungeon Mechanic

This dungeon requires you to travel between multiple timelines to reach the exit. When you first enter the decrepit chamber, the entrance will be blocked by Void debris and black gunk. You mustteleport to the Divine timelineto find a path forward. Progress through the dungeon until you hit another dead-end, then swap timelines to find a path forward. Repeat this process as needed.

You’ll find the exit in the Ruined Era near the northern edge of the zone. This door will present a modifier for the rest of the dungeon, slightly increasing monster HP and damage in exchange for a bonus reward. The Sanctum Cloisters uses the same mechanic.Kill any enemies you see, swap timelines when you hit a dead end, and look for an exit in the Ruined Era.

Chronomancer Julra Boss Fight

Chronomancer Julra is a powerful mage that will attempt to kill you with aone-shot mechanic. If they start channeling a large AoE attack, immediately switch timelines. The boss will teleport to your timeline once the attack finishes; donotchange timelines until this happens.

Beyond that, the fight itself is rather simple. Julra will fill the arena with laser projectiles that will spin clockwise. The lasers have gaps you’re able to walk through. All lasers seem to have the same spacing, so if you find a safe spot in one laser, you’ll avoid all of them. But beware that the boss will throw out some additional AoE attacks during the fight, so standing completely still isn’t recommended.

Last Epoch Temporal Sanctum Chronomancer Julra Boss Wipe Mechanic-1

In essence, you’ll want to damage Julra after they finish casting a spell, alternating timelines when they start channeling their one-shot mechanic. you’re able to also swap timelines if things get too hectic.Avoid the lasers, swap timelines as needed, and attack Julra when it’s safe to do so.Kill this boss to finish the dungeon and access the Eternity Cache.

The Eternity Cache

The Eternity Cache is a forge thatallows you to craft Legendary items. The process is rather straightforward:

If done correctly, the Eternity Cache will consume your Exalted item and forge a Legendary item. The affixes on your Exalted weapon will then be added to your Legendary at random, determined by your Unique’s Legendary Potential(LP for short).

Last Epoch Temporal Sanctum Chronomancer Julra Boss Laser Grid-1

In the above example, we placed a Unique ring with one Legendary Potential (1LP). This means that our Legendary will steal one of four affixes from our chosen Exalted item, doing so at random. We insert an Exalted ring since it matches our item’s slot type. Once the Legendary was forged, it took our Exalted’s “MInion Damage” affix and discarded the other modifiers.

As you can see,the Exalted Cache is a powerful crafting tool. What you put into the device is what can appear on your Legendary, so it’s important to craft good Exalted items when making a Legendary. Ideally, if you can get a Unique with 4LP, thenallof your Exalted item’s affixes will carry over. Outside of Weaver’s Web items, this is the only way to craft Legendary items in Last Epoch.
