Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueplayers aren’t happy about the high cost of skins in the premium store, with Legendary variants costing $19.99 for just one costume.

Ever since Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was confirmed to be an online-focused game, DC fans have been worried about what that means for its live-service trappings, something that’s been controversial well before launch. While there is some good news, like characters and locations being added for free, the high cost of the skins and items in the premium store is leaving a nasty taste for a lot of players.

Taking a look at the game’s premium store reveals that some skins, like the classic ones that were offered as pre-order bonuses, can start at 1,000 of the in-game credits (known as Luthor Coins) for the basic version, before going all the way up to 2,400 for the “Legendary” variant that comes with some extra colours and shades.

With 1,000 coins costing $9.99 and 2,400 running you back $19.99, that means to get a set of skins for all four characters, you’re looking at spending a minimum of $40 for the basic versions and $80 for the Legendary variants for every member of the squad. One set of skins costing close to the price of a triple-A game that you just paid $70 for in the first place is pretty shocking, and a lot of players aren’t happy.

Suicide Squad having such high costs for its skins won’t come astoo much of a surprise for anyone who played Mortal Kombat 1 last year, as it seems to be a strategy from Warner Bros. instead of developers.

Over on the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League subreddit, Redditor HonestCoast1748 pointed out how high the skins cost, calling it “ridiculous” that the basic versions of these outfits are so expensive. Most of the comments seem to agree, with one player calling it “disgusting” and another sharing that other players are “lost in the cope” and trying to accept what is clearly a toxic move for consumers.

Although most players are calling out the skins for being too expensive and asking other fans to vote with their wallets, there are some members of the community who argue it’s a fair price to pay for all of the post-launch content coming to the game for free. To each their own, I guess, but four skins costing more than some full releases is a big ask for most players.
