An easter egg that can be found withinSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguehints that Batman isn’t dead and could end up making a return in the future.

Over the last few months, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been controversial for a number of reasons, from its expensive skins in the premium store(getting some Mortal Kombat 1 flashbacks here) to its lack of reviews leading up to launch. By far the biggest controversy, though,is the game’s portrayal of Batman when he’s taken over by Brainiac, which culminates in his death and caused many fans to say that it’s disrespectful to the character.

Although Batman and the rest of the Justice League’s fate might seem cruel, it seems that it’s not actually going to be permanent, which goes along with what one prominent leaker has been saying over the past few months. Yesterday, datamined audio revealed news broadcasts from Lois Lane that suggest Flash and Green Lantern are going to end up being revived, and an easter egg has now been discovered that suggests Batman isn’t permanently dead either.

As showcased by YouTuber Batman Arkham Videos, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has 12 calendars that can be found throughout the game, which have presumably been scattered around by Calendar Man. Each calendar that can be found has a different date marked on it, such as one shown early in the video that has January 8 circled and another that has February 5 highlighted.

The video also points out that the calendar for December is unique in that it’s found in Centennial Park (where the final encounter with Batman happens) and has a Bat-symbol on it.

Batman Arkham Videos discovered that ordering the calendars by month and then converting the dates shown on them into letters (such as January 8 being “h” and February 5 being “e”), you get a secret message that reads “He will return”. Considering the Bat-Symbol that is featured on the final calendar and Batman’s relation to Calendar Man, it’s pretty clear that this message is implying that Bruce Wayne will make a return at some point.

It’s also possible that the calendar is referring to Calendar Man himself, since he’s not seen in the game at all, but that doesn’t seem like what’s being hinted at here. In previous Arkham games, it was made clear that Calendar Man had more knowledge than he was letting on and almost seemed omniscient, which would line up with him somehow knowing that Batman wasn’t actually dead.
