Last Epochhas multiple dungeons that players can clear at any point in their journey. They serve as useful alternate leveling paths in the early game, and they can be cleared with endgame builds to earn some powerful rewards. If you’re looking for a certain Unique or enjoy loot explosions, farming dungeons is a great way to gear your character.
The Soulfire Bastion is one of Last Epoch’s more rewarding dungeons, provided you’re lucky. Clearing this fortress of iron and flame will grant access to a powerful gambler merchant. Defeat the enemies within, slay a powerful Lich, and you’ll have the chance of acquiring some exclusive Uniques or powerful Exalted items.

Soulfire Bastion Location
You can find the Soulfire Bastion dungeon entrance inThetima during the Imperial Era.It’s located north of The Risen Lake and northwest of The Outcast Camp hub area. Make your way through THe Felled Wood area, and you’ll uncover the entrance to this dungeon.
How To Get Soulfire Bastion Dungeon Keys
As with every dungeon in Last Epoch, you will need a Soulfire Bastion Key to enter the dungeon.Soulfire Bastion Keys are a rare drop from slain monsters, and they can sometimes appear as Echo rewards inthe Monolith of Fate. You only need one key to access the dungeon, even if you’re in a group.
You only have one life in dungeon activities. Should you perish, you must restart the dungeon by using a new key. Your old key will be lost.

Soulfire Bastion Dungeon Walkthrough
Once you have a key in hand, interact with the Soulfire Bastion gate and insert the key into the text prompt. You will then seefour difficulty optionsto choose from, otherwise known as Tiers.
Level 100
All dungeon mechanics are the same across all four Tiers.Increasing the dungeon’s Tier will make the monsters tougher and increase the rewards you can purchase from the Soul Gambler, this dungeon’s unique merchant. When you’re ready, select a difficulty and start the dungeon.
Dungeon Mechanic
During the Soulfire Bastion dungeon, you will be equipped with aSoulfire Shield(bound to “D” on M&K). This makes you immune to either Necrotic or Fire damage. You can swap the active element on your shield by pressing “D.” Doing so consumes aSoul Ember. You can earn Soul Embers by killing monsters and walking over their corpse.
Spare Soul Embers may be used to purchase items from the Soul Gambler at the end of your run. Unspent Soul Embers are preserved for future Soulfire Bastion runs.

The first group of enemies you’ll stumble across will be protecting a bridge that’s covered in flame. You mustswap your Soulfire Shield to fireto cross it safely. It will protect you against all incoming fire damage for the rest of the zone. Your goal is toreach the opposite end of the chamberby following the narrow walkways in the lava chamber. There’s no timer or difficult mechanics here, so take your time.
When you reach the end of the chamber, you will findtwo possible exits, each with a unique modifier. This modifier will buff the Soul Gambler’s inventory but increase monster strength. Pick the exit that has a modifier you prefer, then proceed to the next room.Soulfire Keep uses the same mechanic as the previous room, so fight through the enemies as normal. Keep your Soulfire Shield attuned to fire, and you should be fine.

Fire Lich Boss Fight
Once you reach the Soulfire Keep, your group will need to kill a powerfulFire Lichboss. Have everyone in your group walk next to the entrance and ready up. There won’t be many opportunities during the fight to manage your inventory or change skills, so if you need to make any adjustments to your character, now is the time.
The fight itself is fairly straightforward. The Lich will cast a mixture of Fire and Necrotic spells. You must swap your Soulfire Shield to match the Lich’s damage. If the Lich is about to cast a powerful Fire spell, swap your shield to Fire. Most of the Lich’s spells have a one-second telegraph, giving you an opportunity to reposition or use a defensive skill.

At roughly 50% HP, the Lich will begin to light the chamber aflame. You must match your Soulfire Shield with the color of the floor. The chamber’s damage type will switch every 20-30 seconds. Manage your shield, lower the boss' HP, and you should best the Fire Lich in a couple of minutes.
Soul Gambler
Completing the Soulfire Dungeon will award access to theSoulfire Gambler. This merchant has an assortment of unidentified items that you may purchase with theSoul Embersyou’ve accumulated throughout your run.Unlike Artem’s wares, the Soulfire Gambler’s stock is finite.Once you purchase an item from the gambler, it will leave its inventory. If you want to refresh their stock, you’ll need to clear the dungeon again.
Items purchased from the Soulfire Gambler can be of Rare, Unique, or Set quality. They can sell virtually every world drop item in the game, including upgraded variants of leveling Uniques you get in the campaign. And as you’d expect from an endgame Unique, these items can roll with Legendary Potential:
