Sonicis set to have a very big 2024 across TV, movies, and of course, video games. To mark the occasion, Tubbz has turned all of its Sonic figures, including Eggman, into Mini Tubbz, and also re-released boxed versions of some of its regular-sized Sonic figures too.
If you’ve never heard of Tubbz, you’re in for a treat, especially if you’re a Sonic fan. Tubbz take your favorite characters from pop culture - mostly from video games - and reimagines them as ducks. ThinkFunko Popswith duck bills. Sonic already has seven Tubbz figures, however, they have become harder to find as more time has passed. Five of them - Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, and Robotnik - have been re-released alongside the new Mini editions, this time in boxes rather than the traditional bathtubs.
All five of the Tubbz getting boxed re-releases now have their own Mini Tubbz, as do Amy and Super Sonic. Mini Tubbz are identical to their bigger siblings in every way other than size. Well, maybe not identical. A couple of the designs are slightly different. Shadow’s Mini Tubbz figure, for example, isn’t holding the Master Emerald like the regular-sized one. Sonic’s Mini Tubbz figure is also a little different as it doesn’t have the blue blur holding up a hand, or should that be a wing?
Mini Tubbz are roughly half the size of Sonic’s normal-sized Tubbz, and they’ve been priced at $8.99 each.All seven can be found at Just Geekand even though the price might be in pounds, the site ships worldwide. The entire collection is also availablethrough Amazon UK, but for the time being, only the Sonic Mini Tubbz is on sale through Amazon US. That will hopefully change in the future, but if those of you in the US do want all seven, or any other Mini Tubbz aside from the Sonic one, you’ll need to use Just Geek.
