Summary

Lethal Companyhas so many mods, it can be hard to keep track of them all. Especially those mods that make you feel like a horror movie protagonist waiting for the monsters to come out of the woodwork at any moment. Playing with friends can either make the modded experience far less scary, or far worse.

All that depends on how you play, and if you’re adding more creatures to the game, you’re able to expect appropriately high levels of hijinks from all directions. From the mildly creepy to thoroughly bone-chilling, these mods will enhance your horror experience while you try your best not to die before you reach the Company’s quota.

All the mods on this list require at least the following mod to run:BepInExPack by BepInEx.

10Mimics

This mod byx753is more of an initial jumpscare at its core, since it replacesfire exitsfrom the inside with toothy, aggressive monsters that instantly kill you when you attempt to escape the facility through the unsuspecting door. Mimics, famously fromDungeons & Dragons, disguise themselves as ordinary objects in order to kill their prey.

These"fire exits"act identical to the vanilla game’s doors, even when you interact with them, at which point the door will eat you. It happens within seconds, too, so you don’t have much of an opportunity to save yourself from the faulty door. Not knowing which fire exit is real can really add a whole new level of tension to your game, so proceed with caution!

Player character shining a flashlight on an Apparatus and Bottles Scrap and scanning them to see their sell values in a complex room in Lethal Company.

9FacilityMeltdown

You might be familiar with the piece of scrap known as theapparatus, which you can sell to the Company if you’re in need of a quick buck. But this mod byloaforcmakes pulling that apparatus out of its socket far more deadly. It will trigger acatastrophic nuclear event, and you’ll have a limited amount of time to flee the facility before it explodes.

This mod has seriously explosive trolling potential, especially since you could stumble upon the room the apparatus spawns in at any point in your exploration. Just yank that baby out and run for it, or strategically remove it when your friends aren’t looking. You could also just remove it as a last-ditch effort if your group is done with the moon for the day. Or if they’re all dead. Either one!

Coil-Head monsters in Lethal Company.

8CoilHeadStare

We’ve all been in that situation.Coil-Headsare nasty to deal with, especially if you’re by yourself. Anyone who’s dealt with these monsters before is in for a bigger surprise with this mod byTwinDimensionalProductions. Whenever you’re staring at a Coil-Head for too long, these unsettling monsters will turn their heads to look at you.

It’s slow, it’s terrifying, and it doesn’t help that you can’t look away from them. They keep staring, too, no matter where you move in a room. They’ll eventually turn there and look at you again. It’s inescapable, and you have to have a pro-level strategy to get away from them. Or just run backwards, nobody will judge you.

Lethal Company Preparing To Use Zap Gun On Bracken

7CreepyBrackens

This mod byColtG5is for those Five Nights at Freddy’s fans out there. If theBrackensweren’t already creepy enough, this mod replaces their chuckle-sounding ambient noises with Foxy’s hummed song from theFNAF movie. It’s horrible luck to stumble across this mod in the pitch-black concrete darkness.

If you’re going into the facility without a flashlight, especially if the moon iseclipsed, then coming across a Bracken is something you’re able to expect to happen fairly quickly. These creatures imitateFoxy’s voicewhenever they hunt you, singing his song as if they don’t have a care in the world. If you want an extra scare, try playing solo with this mod; it’s guaranteed to make you question your sanity at least once.

6ControlCompany

If you’re someone who likes to stay behind on the ship and help (or troll) your friends, this mod byControl Companyis for you. It allows you to use the ship terminal to spawn in and play as any of the monsters in the game. FromLooting Bugsto theForest Keeper, this mod has your wildest trolling interests at heart!

You can even install other mods that add new monsters into the game, and ControlCompany will allow you to control them, too! Perfect for friend groups who trust your mod choices blindly and unconditionally, or friends who want to test their combat skills with a Nutcracker.

Lethal Company: Multiple Scavengers Inside Multiplayer Mode

5Skinwalkers

RugbugRedfernbrings a whole new level of paranoia to your game with this mod. It lets enemies mimic your friends' voices from anywhere in the facility, luring you in and hoping to kill you. Any monster can use a soundbite from your friends, so you have to be careful if you don’t want to end up on a dinner plate.

If you’re a fan ofSkinwalkers, essentially something pretending to be a human, you’ll be a fan of this mod and its psychologically terrifying implications. The solutions to this problem are many, but most of them involve threatening any crewmate walking up to you with a stop sign or shotgun. Good luck!

Lethal Company Tragedy Mask

4MaskedEnemyOverhaul

Speaking of hitting your friends over the head with a stop sign, this mod byHomelessGingermakes it even more difficult to tell who’s friendly and who’s out to get you. This isn’t a meta commentary on your friendships, but it may turn into one when aMasked Crewmatewalks up to you without the mask over their face and kills you for trusting them.

Paranoia is one of the more easily accessible thrills of Lethal Company, especially when there are precious few identifying characteristics between your fellow player and a mask creature. This mod really brings up the drama in your explorations!

3Scopophobia

This mod byjaspercreationsis not for the faint of heart. The well-known horror of theSCP Foundationshould never be mixed with the tense horror of Lethal Company… or should it? Scopophobia adds one specific SCP to the game:SCP-096. He is a vicious killing machine; once you or any of your friends look at him, he snaps and begins to chase whoever looked at him until he kills them.

This relentless chase gets worse when you realize one little detail: this monster can and will chase you out of the facility and follow you to the ship. If that isn’t scary enough, he is constantly screaming to announce his presence and crying up until he is looked at. These human noises make him all the more terrifying, especially when he starts shrieking. That’s your cue to run!

Ant-sized players in Lethal Company.

2TinyCompany

What’s more spine-chilling than experiencing all the horrors of the game? Experiencing all of them at a fraction of your normal size.TinyCompanybyYouTube creator and game devJellyJamis an extreme scaling down of your player model, to the point where your speed, jump radius, and ability to get through the map are all hindered.

You do get infinite stamina with this mod, so you’re able to run away faster when you’re tiny, as opposed to being slower in a normal-sized body. This isLethal Company challenge modeat its finest, so the horrors of this small, unnamed mod are here if you seek a challenge that will scare your tiny pants off!

the backrooms

1Backrooms

This is a mod inspired by theBackroomshorror genre, where you can be randomly teleported into a liminal space, a yellow building with no visible entrances or exits. You then have no choice but to run through the halls, looking for a way out of this labyrinth.

What’s scarier about this is the ambient music, and the threat of impending doom around any possible corner. With this mod, there is an exit, you just have to wander aimlessly to find it if you get teleported. This teleportation happens on a random change any time you take damage from any source… friend or foe.
