As time goes on the line betweenPCand console gaming gets thinner and thinner. Not only do many new releases come out simultaneously for consoles and Windows/Mac, but some older games that were only on PC for decades have been brought to consoles.

However, plenty of classic games still remain exclusive to those who game on PC. Bringing the following titles to consoles is not just about opening them up to new audiences, but also breathing life into the title and helping preserve classics that deserve to be easily accessible. Without console ports and remasters, some of these games might be lost forever.

For this list, we are sticking to games that never came out on consoles, which is why classics like Deus Ex, Diablo, and UFO: Enemy Unknown are missing.

8Trespasser

Trespasser was a mess when it came out due to a rushed launch that left the game crawling with bugs and glitches. There are hints of greatness within the ambitious attempts at immersion and the physics system.

Re-releasing this title on consoles could serve as a historical artifact of a video game that tried too much. It could also turn out to be a second chance to fix all the mistakes and make Trespasser what it should have been all those years ago.

7Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

With a sequel on the horizon set to come out for consoles, it only makes sense for the original to be revived. Like a lot of old PC games, runningVampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlineson modern rigs is a headache. It always was a challenge to get up and running, though.

The game was ahead of its time with the way your choice of vampire affected the way you interacted with the world, so it deserves to be preserved.

6Black & White

Unlike a lot of games on this list, Black & White is simply impossible to find legally on the Internet, making it hard to play unless you have a physical copy and the right PC. This experience is all about getting all the villages to follow you as a god through various actions.

Even though you are all powerful, that doesn’t mean villagers will easily worship you. Though the interface makes the most sense for a mouse and keyboard, a console port could adapt it to a controller easily.

Lionhead Studio’s other famous series, Fable, did come out on consoles

5Fallout

Fallout 3, along with Oblivion, can be seen as some of the titles that helped expand the western RPG genre to new audiences with their popularity on consoles. However, the two main entries prior to Fallout 3 never received console ports.

They are vastly different and more difficult, but fans deserve a chance to play them. With the Wasteland series making its way to consoles along with a re-release of the original game, it makes us yearn all the more for classic Fallout on Xbox. Movement, which is reserved for the mouse and keyboards, could be easily moved to the analog stick.

The originalSystem Shockgot its due with a full-fledged remake by Night Dive Studios. The graphics are completely overhauled but it maintains the complexity that made the original game so influential.

System Shock 2 is similarly impactful for its RPG elements, but it hasn’t seen the same treatment and it has never been brought to consoles.Considering it is the spiritual predecessor to BioShock, it is shocking to know how many fans of that series probably never touched System Shock 2.

3Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault

When Allied Assault first came out, console gamers got Frontline in its place. They are two different games, though both recreate the moment troops landed on Omaha Beach in Normandy. Frontline eventually got a re-release on the PS3 as a part of theMedal of Honorreboot, but Allied Assault is still a PC exclusive.

Considering its connection to the Call of Duty series- Jason West and Vince Zampella worked on it before the other landmark FPS - it feels easy to market a re-launch as the precursor to one of the most popular shooters ever made.

2Warcraft 3

Warcraft 3was remade in recent years but the reception to the new version, Reforged, was lackluster at best. The original Warcraft 3 still sees a lot of love from the community, so why not let console players experience it?

Bringing an RTS to consoles is no easy feat but it doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s more about giving everyone a chance to play a highly revered title. Besides, RTS games have been on consoles before and it has worked well enough to be at least playable.

We would also put Starcraft on this list but it did receive a Nintendo 64 port.

1Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall

Playing olderElder Scrollsgames is tough. They lack modern conveniences and are brutally unforgiving at times. However, they are still worth checking out as a curiosity and can be endlessly rewarding to those who get into their systems and world. It’s too bad this luxury is not available to console players.

The series has never run well on consoles andfirst releases often had glitches and performance issues, but with a game as old as Daggerfall, modern consoles should do just fine. Even if the game is too hard, it’s more about being able to play a piece of history than it is about experiencing something magnificent.
