Summary
WhilePersona 3 Reloadmarks the third time Persona 3 has been re-released, it will still be the edition many players experience for the first time. As such, once the ending hits, those players will be left with a lot of unanswered questions, chief among them what actually happened at the end.
There will likely be a DLC explaining some of these mysteries, but even if we get similar answers as before, changing a few details might change the whole story. As we wait for a new edition of The Answer to appear on Reload, what we are left with are these mind-boggling questions.

7What Happened To The Protagonist At The End?
He Seemed To Just Be Taking A Nap
One lingering question we could have an answer to isthe fate of our dear protagonist, not only thanks to the clues left by the game, but also from prior knowledge of previous editions. It is revealed in Persona 3 FES that the protagonist dies once he goes to sleep at the end of the game.
Yet we can’t help but wonder if it is still the case here, even if the theme of death and acceptance are still present in Reload. Since there is no additional content once the game is done (at least for now), for all we know, the protagonist might be taking a simple, short nap, instead of an eternal one.

6Will We Get An Answer DLC?
The Answer is an important chapter in the Persona 3 story, but so far it is only playable in the Persona 3 FES edition. In that post-game campaign, Aigis takes the leading role as she tries to come to terms with the demise of the blue-haired boy, the protagonist of the original tale.
The fate of the protagonist isn’t the only thing covered by The Answer, since it also delves into the inner workings of Nyx (the original game’s final boss) and why she’s called to end the world. If Reload were to have its own rendition of The Answer, they could change quite a few things, from the blue-haired boy’s fate to Nyx’s reasons for crashing onto the earth.

5Are Social Links Pointless?
Too Many Broken Promises
Social Links are the way the protagonists from the Persona titles give power to their Personas, so in a practical sense, they aren’t pointless, even if you’ll never fulfill any of the promises made to the characters you interact with. Still, it feels oddto promise to go to Disneylandor travel the land on a motorcycle when you end your journey six feet under.
you’re able to argue that what mattered wasn’t the destination, but the friends you made along the way. While a sweet sentiment, it still means that the tickets to Disneyland were replaced by funeral accommodations, which sounds like a loss in more ways than one.

4Is There A Way To Save The Protagonist?
Casting Recarm Doesn’t Seem To Work
Even if the fate of the protagonist is set in stone, there might be a way to save him, or at the very least, his soul. This was referenced in the past inPersona 4, when Margaret mentions that her sister, Elizabeth (both assistants of Igor), is looking for a way to save the blue-haired boy.
While far-fetched, there is a chance we will deal with this issue in Reload, if Atlus decides to add DLC covering such a quest. Or it might even happen in a future installment; either way, we’ll have to wait to know if that boy is forever trapped as a seal or if he has a way out.

3Will We Get A Female Protagonist?
She Changed How All The Social Links Worked
Ever sincePersona 3 Portableintroduced her, fans have been enamored with the female version of the Persona 3 protagonist, someone more upbeat and flirty than our blue-haired boy. Still, even on release, that edition wasn’t considered canon, the previously available Persona 3 FES has always taken that spot.
Now, with the release of Reload, there’s a window of opportunity to bring her into canonicity, even if that wouldn’t exactly work. There wasn’t a single hint of a playable female protagonist in-game, so all we can do now is wait and hope.

2Will Nyx Come Back In Future Persona Games?
She Seems To Be The Ultimate Lifeform
When an enemy isn’t completely defeated, there’s a certain level of expectation that they’ll make a comeback. Nyx, being the cosmic level threat that she is, wasn’t defeated but simply sealed away, the protagonist of Persona 3 using his soul to keep her at bay.
The Answer reveals that the point of the seal isn’t to trap Nyx, but to prevent Erebus (a different godly entity) from reaching her, but the point of her being sealed away stands.

Yet Nyx wasn’t at all relevant to the plots of Persona 4 and 5, at least not directly, since they had their own deities to deal with. Still, when comparing the stories, the mightiest one among them continues to be Nyx, so expecting her to eventually make a comeback, even as an optional boss, isn’t out of the question.
1Is The Protagonist Of Persona 3 Stronger Than The Others?
Gaining The Universe Arcana Seems Like A Bigger Feat Than A Planetary One
The Persona series, like any other saga, follows a certain formula. You go to school, fight monsters and grow friendships, all to fight a god-like monster at the end made up of negative energy- all while being aided by the ultimate arcana card.
However, Persona 3 differs in what that ultimate arcana is, since in most other games, it is The World. In Persona 3, you gain The Universe, which suggests a deeper understanding of the inner workings of life and death, and which allows you to seal Nyx way up on the moon.
With that difference set, one does wonder if the protagonist of Persona 3is simply stronger than any otherthat came before or after. While he can be fought in a bonus fight in Persona 5, that’s hardly considered canon, although it still speaks of that boy’s might.
