Unless theXboxnews coming later this week is even more shocking than any of us are expecting,PlayStationis unlikely to haveGame Pass, or its own version of it, on its platforms anytime soon. The most we can hope for isPlayStation Pluswhich, while not quite as good value as Game Pass, is still pretty great. Especially when you can get 12 months of Extra for the price of Essential, saving you $60.

For PS Plus newbies, Essential is the cheapest tier of the subscription and includes online play and a small handful of games to download (and keep for as long as you have an active subscription). Extra is all of that plus an expansive library ofPS4andPS5games. Similar to Game Pass, PlayStation adds games to its Extra library every month and removes some too.
