InUnicorn Overlord, as you make your way to meet with Miriam and rescue the kidnapped Scarlett, you’ll run into Clive’s old friend Adel, who will inform the party of a Gaston, a cruel lord taxing the nearby towns to death. You’ll need to beat this quest to get to Scarlett and continue the story.
This map is a long trek meant to introduce you to Gryphon Knights, a class with the ability to traverse any terrain and deal massive damage to mounted knights, and the Divine Effigies, map features that can allow you to either heal your allies or harm your enemies.

Recruitable Units
Adel
This is a large map with a lot going on, but it also gives you a lot of tools to help you deal with them. Between allied units and a strong Gryphon Knight in Fran, so long as you’re properly leveled, the only thing you’ll have to worry about isrunning out of time.
Best Units For Province Of Famine Quest
By default, you’ll want tohave Clive in this fight, as he can talk to some of the enemy units. You should also have ahoplite and magesto help deal with the cavaliers, and anarcherto target enemy Gryphon knights.
When you can, have yourknights be unit leader for improved mobility, as this is a map witha lot of traversal.

Province Of Famine Battle – Phase One
You’ll start in the southwest part of the map and have to make your way up and around to the southeast. HaveClive or Adel ride ahead to speakto one of the enemy knights. This willcause all of them to turn to allies.
Keep going north to Façon Town and garrison there. At this point, Fran will appear in the northeast part of the map.
Have Fran take Fort Gromond; she’ll easily deal with the knight along the way.Deploy an archer from Fort Gromondto take out the enemy Gryphon Knight, pick up the item on the ground, andgarrison in the Utur Sabal Ruins.
With your units on the west half of the map, march towards theDeucrin Ruinsand take them.
If you need healing, you can have a unit pray at the Divine Effigy to heal nearby allies.
Once you’ve taken all the points in the northern part of the map, you’re able to move on to the second part of the map.
Province Of Famine Battle – Phase Two
Deploy any units you need from Fort Gormondand start having your army march down towards Gaston.
Once again, you canhave Adel or Clive speak to the knightsthat appear on the map, butthey won’t change sides, so it’s only for flavor.
Move your units towards Nordplage town, keeping sure to have your archers deal with Gryphon Knights andkeeping Fran away from enemy archers.
In the forest you can find a Camping Set S, make use of it if you need to heal or increase the stamina of several allied units.
If you need to take care of all the clustered enemies, you may have someoneuse the Divine Effigythere, which willsummon a thunderstormthat damages and prevents them from moving.
Fran can take out Gastonvery quickly as long as you keep her alive, but it doesn’t hurt to position archers and spellcasters to assist her.
How To Recruit Adel And Fran
In this questyou’ll gain acces to two new units, Adel and Fran. WhileAdel will join your party permanentlyafter this fight, Fran will leave afterwardbut rejoin you in the questThe Priestess, Abducted.
Adel is another knight like Clive, butFran is your first Gryphon Knight.She has great mobility and can take out many of the other knights on the map, but you have to keep her away from archers.
