July 16, 2025, is Temporal Forces release day. Another big day for thePokemon TCGas its next big expansion arrives. If you didn’t manage to bag pre-orders - or even if you did but still want more - then you’ll likely be heading to your localPokemoncard retailer this Friday. If that retailer is a GameStop or a Best Buy, then if you spend enough on your Pokemon TCG purchase, you will get a very special free gift to along with it.

Pokemon has revealedit will be giving away Koraidon and Miraidon promo cards this Friday to celebrate the release of the Pokemon TCG’s Temporal Forces expansion. The cards are exclusives meaning they won’t be cropping up in your packs and booster boxes, and the only way to get them is to spend $15 or more on Pokemon TCG products in participating retailers this Friday, while stocks last.

Before you attempt to make the tough decision between choosing Koraidon or Miraidon, or you rush out to grab a disguise so you can spend $15 and get one and then come back ten minutes later to get the other, that’s not a decision you’re going to have to make. Each card is exclusive to a particular chain. If you want the Koraidon card, then you will need to spend your $15 or more at GameStop. If you want the Miraidon card, you will need to spend that money at Best Buy.

Don’t worry, you won’t need to rush down to your local GameStop and then onto your nearest Best Buy, hoping and praying the entire way there that you haven’t missed out. Both cards can be claimed by buying TCG products online too. That means in theory, it should be easy to get your hands on both, it just means spending a minimum of $30 once the promo card offer goes live on Friday. However, recent history when it comes to Pokemon card giveaways has shown us it’s not always that simple.

Pokemon collaborated with Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum last year, the limited edition Pikachu card that came with itresulting in a small-scale riotright there in the museum’s gift shop. The card has been printed en masse since thenmaking it far easier to find and greatly reducing its resale price. There was alsoa Ceruledge promo card giveawaysimilar to the Koraidon and Miraidon one that appeared to go off without a hitch for Pokemon Day. Hopefully Friday’s giveaway will go just as smoothly and everyone who wants the cards will be able to get them.
