It’s Pokemon Day and while the Pokemon Presents fans were expecting an awful lot from might not have been packed with blockbuster announcements, it ended on one that will have left most fans happy with what’s to come.Pokemon Legends: Z-A, a follow-up to the popularLegends: Arceusbut seemingly set in the future instead of the past, launching onNintendosystems in 2025. If that’s too long to wait for morePokemon, perhaps the new Looming Shadows statue will fill the void between now and then.
The statue featuring Gastly’s entire evolutionary line has been released to celebrate Pokemon Day, and you can pre-order it at the Pokemon Center through the link in the box below right now. There are two caveats, though, and the first is obvious. The statue costs $400, so probably the same price as whatever Nintendo’s next console is going to be. The second is only 1,000 of the statues will be made, so if you’re hesitant about spending that much on a Pokemon collectible, don’t spend too long thinking about it.

At the center of a statue is a rather sad-looking tree standing on its base, likely affected by the Ghost-type Pokemon surrounding it. Floating near the top of the tree is Gastly, grabbing one of its branches is Haunter, and standing at the tree’s base is Gengar. The purple whisps around the statue’s base are gas clouds, and the Pokemon’s light-up eyes are powered by a USB-C connection and turned on by pressing a button.
Pokemon Looming Shadows Statue
Made by First 4 Figures, Pokemon’s Looming Shadows Statue features Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar gathered around a spooky tree, gas clouds surrounding them. Only 1,000 have been made, each of them numbered to make them truly unique.
Each of the statues will be numbered from one to 1,000 meaning the figure you own will be unique to you. There’s a purchase limit of two and fair play to anyone who can afford and wants to own two of these rather pricey collectibles. Also worth noting is that they are only available for pre-order at present, and the statues are expected to ship in September. Long before we’ll all be playing Legends: Z-A, but hopefully afterthe newly announced mobile game Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocketgets here.
If you’re after something a little cheaper than a $400 Ghost-type statue and you don’t fancy waiting until 2025 to play your next Pokemon game,Amazon and Walmart have some Pokemon Switch games on sale. Most notably Legends: Arceus. If you haven’t played it already, with it being on sale for $40 and Z-A coming next year, there’s never been a better time to catch up.
