Pokemon Legends: Z-Awas announced earlier this week, and is doing what Pokemon fans have been dreaming of for almost a decade. Towards the endof the game’s announcement trailer, it was pretty much confirmed that Game Freak isfinally bringing back Mega Evolutions, the popular gimmick that allows Pokemon to temporarily evolve in battle.
Right now, there are only 45 different Pokemon that can Mega Evolve, but the announcement of Legends: Z-A has fans excited about the possibility of Game Freak finally adding more Mega Evolutions to the pile. Over the course of the past few days, fans of the series have been making their case for why their favorite ‘mons should get a Mega Evolution over others, but there are also plenty of people out there who already know which Pokemon is almost guaranteed to get one.
Game Freak is widely criticized for its love of Charizard, having received two Mega Evolutions in Pokemon X & Y depending on which version of the game you own. After that, Charizard then got a special Gigantamax form in Pokemon Sword & Shield, and it’s this continued love for Charizard that has fans convinced we’ll be getting a Mega Charizard Z in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
You’llfind countless peopledreading the almost undeniable fact that we’ll be getting a Mega Charizard Z, based solely off the fact we already have Mega Charizard X and Y, with some going so far as to claim we’re also getting a Mega Charizard A because of the game’s name. It’s great news if you’re a Charizard fan, but no so great for all you Flygon enjoyers out there.
Flygon has already managed toset itself apart from the rest of the packregarding which Pokemon deserves a Mega Evolution, mostly down to the fact that it actually was supposed to have one in Pokemon X & Y, but plans were scrapped as the developers at Game Freak weren’t confident in any of their designs. Pokemon Legends: Z-A is the perfect opportunity for Flygon to get its deserved Mega Stone, but we all know deep down it’s going to have to fight past a horde of Mega Charizard and Mega Mewtwo for it to actually happen.
