Xboxrevealed the rumors that it planned on bringing some of its exclusives to other consoles were true in February, confirmingfour of its titles would be released on other platforms. Suspicions that those four games arePentiment,Hi-Fi Rush,Grounded, andSea of Thieveswere later confirmed, and Pentiment had the honor of being the first of the quartet to arrive else,dropping on Nintendo Switch immediately after its reveal during a Direct. If you’d prefer to own a physical copy of Pentiment though, you might want to hold off on buying the digital version.
Coupled with its arrival on Switch was an announcement from Limited Run Games that it will be releasing a physical copy of the historical RPG adventure. Not just onSwitch, but onXbox Series X|SandPS5too. The physical version of Pentiment will cost $34.99 regardless of your chosen platform, and the links in the box below will be live so you’re able to place pre-orders from 1 pm EST on July 16, 2025.
There don’t appear to be multiple editions to choose from, just a standard edition that includes a physical copy of the game. There also isn’t a pre-order bonus, but with releases like this, there doesn’t need to be. The excitement is in the game getting a physical release at all. In a world where more and more studios are opting to go digital-only for their releases, it’s comforting to know even two years on from a game’s release, there’s still a chance it will get a physical copy.

With a unique, medieval art style, Obsidian Entertainment’s Pentiment sees you investigate murders that have taken place in a fictional Bavarian town.
Pentiment arguably didn’t get the attention it deserved when released in 2022, possibly due to it being an Xbox exclusive, and not a flagship title likeStarfieldorHalo Infinite. Its storybook style and medieval setting make it a fascinating game to play, and whether you pick up a physical copy or not, it’s exciting to see the title get a second lease on life and for it to likely be played by so many more people now it’s available everywhere.
As great as it will be to see Pentiment released physically and across multiple platforms, the headliner of the four Xbox exclusives coming to PS5 and Switch is Hi-Fi Rush. Limited Run Games to the rescue again, Chai will also see his game get a physical version in 2024. Additional details, including a price and release date, about Hi-Fi Rush’s physical version are yet to be revealed, likely due to it not getting a release date for Nintendo Switch yet.
