Even thoughNintendorefuses to reveal what’s coming next, 2024 might be the last year in which theSwitchis its newest console. With its successor likely being announced any day now, there has never been a better time to experience everything the Switch has to offer. Sometimes to do that, you need accessories, and one of the very best third-party Switch accessories on the market, the Nitro Deck, is on sale, bringing its price down to less than $50.
The Nitro Deck is effectively a replacement for your Joy-Con. Detach the screen from your regular controllers and slot it into the Nitro Deck, whether it be the regular LCD or OLED version, both of which are compatible with the accessory. Not only does it feel more comfortable to play the Switch handheld when paired with the Nitro Deck, but it adds an array of new features not available when using the base console by itself.

Top of the bill are the back buttons. Mapped to your shoulder buttons out of the box, but that can be changed with relative ease if you’d prefer them to be mapped to different commands. You can also change the thumbsticks if you so desire, and the Nitro Deck’s creators claim there is no risk of stick drift, a problem that has plagued the Switch since launch. It also charges your Switch as you play, provided the Deck itself has been charged, of course.
Nitro Deck Black Edition
The Nitro Deck Black Edition is a third party Joy-Con deck for the Nintendo Switch.
Its best feature of all may well be that it doubles as a pro controller. Change the mode on the Deck when your console is docked and it can be used to play games up on the big screen too. Pretty great consideringhow much top-quality controllers can cost in 2024. Back to the price, and some of the Deck options are on sale right now at Amazon. The black Nitro Deck is the cheapest, down to just $45.99 from its usual $59.99. The white version is also reduced and available through the same link in the box above.

Nitro Deck Purple Limited Edition With Carry Case
The Nitro Deck is a Nintendo Switch accessory that can be used in handheld when connected to your console, but also as a pro controller when your Switch is docked. This purple edition is based on the color scheme of the GameCube and includes a carry case.
My personal favorite of the designs available is also on sale. The purple option which has been modeled after theGameCube’s design, right down to the iconic yellow c-stick. Available for $69.99 (usually $89.99), the purple Nitro Deck also comes with a carry case. Worth noting the Deck has its own range of cases as when the Switch is in one, it’ll be too big for most regular Switch cases.
