Although a lot ofMultiVersusfans are happy to see the game return from its year-long hiatus, some players are sick of the “cringe” teasers and just want the news to be shared.
It’s nearly been a whole year sincePlayer First Games announced that MultiVersus' open beta would be going offline until “early 2024"to give the team more time to develop content and make changes to the game’s ecosystem based on player feedback.It’s been a long road for fanssince that announcement was made (with McDonald’s weirdly being our best source of info) but the wait is finally coming to a close.
Just a few days ago, the MultiVersus Twitter account sprung back to life with a tweet that seemed to suggest that actual news was going to be shared soon, while also confirming that players would be given plenty of warning about when we’d hear more. Many fans assumed that we’d get something the next day, but all we ended up receiving were more tweets and teases without a hint at when the real reveal was happening.
Although most MultiVersus players are just happy to see the game return after so long, it seems that many burned fans don’t want to keep being teased about incoming news and just want to actually hear it.Over on the MultiVersus subreddit, Redditor ScottBowey28 sharedPlayer First Games' second teasing tweetthat says, “We hear you perfectly, however… the suspense is powerful”.
That might just seem like a cute tweet teasing the re-reveal of MultiVersus, but it’s not going down well with some fans.Over on Twitter, a lot of the responses to the teases have been players telling the developers to just drop the trailer instead of hinting at it, while the community on Reddit is calling them “cringe”, noting that it’s “terrible communication”, and pointing out that these teasers really only work for new announcements and not something that people have already paid for.
“This is so cringe. Literally 1 team talking to themselves. Just drop the news.”
It’s understandable that the MultiVersus Twitter account would make a bit of a comeback and reshare its presence before revealing anything too major (that’s just how marketing works, after all), but it’s also understandable that players who spent more than $100 on founder’s packs and Gleamium wouldn’t be finding the cheeky teases quite so funny.
While there are a lot of mixed emotions surrounding MultiVersus' comeback, theofficial Twitter account has promised that it’s not just teasing fans and is just warming up to reveal what’s coming next, so it shouldn’t be that long until we get to see the real deal.
