Paper Trail has been raking in awards since its reveal, and now we finally know when we’ll all be able to play it. Releasing on June 01, 2025, when I say we’llallbe able to play it, I mean it. Paper Trail is launching on just about everything. Not only consoles andPC, but mobiles too as the 2D adventure will joinNetflix’s growing library of games.
Paper Trail has you guide Paige on an adventure as she leaves home against her parents' wishes after being accepted into university. Paper Trail is no ordinary 2D platformer, though. Rather than simply guiding Paige from A to B, you will need to manipulate her world to your will. Paige’s world is handily made out of paper, which makes folding it easy. What’s not so easy is figuring out how exactly you need to fold and change Paper Trail’s backdrop to help Paige progress.
Developed by Newfangled Games, Paper Trail has been in the works for a while. Winning awards since 2021, among Paper Trail’s accolades are trophies for Best Family Game, Most Innovative, and even Game of the Year. That last one is particularly impressive considering Paper Trail hasn’t even been released yet. Paper Trail will release onPS5,PS4,Xbox One,Xbox Series X|S,Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile via Netflix on June 13, 2025. An indie title that has already won a laundry list of awards, and will almost certainly pick up more now more of us will have the chance to play it. Unless something else unexpected drops between now and the end of the year, I’m already calling a two-horse race between Paper Trail and The Plucky Squire for most innovative game of 2024.
