After reaching Maj’Elka during Chapter 9 inLast Epoch, you’ll be able to join one of two Item Factions. These Factions greatly impact how you are able to progress your character through equipment, which can make choosing which one to join difficult. Luckily, you can always join a different Faction later.

If you choose to join the Merchant’s Guild, you’ll be able to buy and sell items from other players using gold and Favor. Below, we’ll take a look at everything you need to know about being a member of the Merchant’s Guild, including how to buy and list items, and the boons you get for upgrading your Reputation.

Merchant’s Guild’s Bazaar in Last Epoch.

How Does The Merchant’s Guild Work?

Compared to the Circle of Fortune, the other Faction you may join, the Merchant’s Guild is pretty straightforward. When you join, you’ll be able to buy basic gear from other players, and you can sell any pieces of gear you’ve obtained.

Gear isbought and sold using Favor, which you can earn bykilling enemies and completing queststhroughout the game.

Additionally, buying items is done with gold, which is what you’re actually giving or receiving from another player. Think of Favor as thetax required to trade the itemin the first place, and the gold is what you spend to get the item.

Any item you buy from another player will becomecharacter-bound, meaning youcan only use it on that character, and itcan’t be sold again. Additionally, items earned through theCircle of Fortune can’t be soldthrough the Merchant’s Guild.

While you may technically join the Merchant’s Guild on an Offline character, youwon’t be able to buy or sell items from other players.

How To Buy And Sell Items

To buy or sell items, you’ll need to make your way to theBazaar near Maj’elka. Here, you’re able to findstalls for every type of item, from Idols to Boots and everything in between.

If you want to buy an item, simply talk to the stall owner for the particular item you want to buy. For this example, we’ll buy some Gloves. On the stall screen, you’ll see a list of every Glove currently being sold, how much gold it’s selling for, and how much Favor you need to buy it.

Using thefiltersat the top of the menu, you may search more specifically for an item within a certain level range, gold cost, class, which affixes it has, and so on.

To sell an item, head to any stall and select eitherMy StallorList An Item. Here, you may see alist of everything you’re currently selling, and you canlist an item from your Stash or inventory. When you list an item, you’ll need to put in an asking price, and then spend some Favor to list the item.

If your items aren’t selling, trylooking for similar itemsto see their asking price or going rate. Learning the market in Last Epoch will take a bit of time and research, but it’s definitely worth the effort.

Trading Directly With Another Player

Rather than use the Bazaar, you can alsotrade items directly with another player, if you’re both members of the Merchant Guild. This works similarly to Bazaar trading, but requires you to settle on a price outside of the Bazaar, and forboth of you to be in the same town.

Merchant’s Guild Reputation Rewards

As youspend Favor, you’ll slowly increase your Reputation, and periodically increase yourRank with the Merchant’s Guild. You can alsogain Reputation by killing enemies or completing quests, just like Favor. There are 10 Reputation Ranks to earn, and each unlocks a new feature or upgrades your abilities within the Faction.
