If you thought 2024 would ease off when it comes to big video game releases after the relentless onslaught that was 2023, think again. We’re not even three months into the year and several Game of the Year contenders have already launched. Trying to play them all costs a lot of time and a lot of money, and while we can’t help with the former, a sale onSegagames means two of 2024’s biggest games are currently available for a lot less.

Sega games have had their prices slashed at Amazon and Best Buy, and the two big ones leading the charge areLike A Dragon: Infinite WealthandPersona 3 Reload. Both are usually priced at $69.99 but are on sale for a limited time, their prices cut to just $39.99. Based on content alone, these games are comfortably worth $40 each. They do demand a lot of your time so even though you’ll save $60 if you pick up both, the time issue noted earlier will become significantly bigger. It’s well worth it, though.

Infinite Wealth is the latest installment in the Like A Dragon, formerly Yakuza, series, released at the end of January to critical acclaim. It’sLike A Dragon week here at TheGamer, and the series' newest game getting a hefty price cut feels like a fitting way to kick things off. Features and interviews with people who have worked on and are close to the series will be popping up on the site throughout the week. Suffice to say, if you don’t think Infinite Wealth is worth $40 now, you almost certainly will by the end of our Like A Dragon Week.

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth

WHERE TO PLAY

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth continues the story of Ichiban Kasuga, in the ninth mainline entry in the series formerly known as Yakuza. It will once again feature turn-based combat, and takes our protagonist outside of Japan for the first time.

No Persona week (maybe one day), but whether you have a vested interest in the series or you’re looking for a good entry point, Persona 3 Reload is it. No need for prior knowledge of other games in the series, and the remake is the definitive way to play what many believe to be the best Persona game to date. There are several other Persona games included in the limited-time Sega sale if you want to hop on the bandwagon elsewhere or if you already own Persona 3 Reload.

Persona 3 Reload

Persona 3 Reload is a ground-up remake of the RPG classic, aligning the aesthetics with the more recent Persona 5. It does not contain any of the changes or extra content from Persona 3 FES or Persona 3 Portable.

Since this is technically a Sega sale, there are, of course, a handful of Sonic games available for less too.Sonic Frontiers,Sonic Superstars, andSonic Colors Ultimateare all on sale. There’s at least one new Sonic game launching this year -Sonic x Shadow Generations. However, a leak at the weekend may have revealed a second Sonic game on the horizon.Sonic Toys Party which looks a lot like Fall Guys with Sonic characters.
